I had a needle biopsy done today on my thyroid. While the radiology tech was very nice and understanding, the doctor was a complete jerk. He has the worse bedside manner I have ever seen. He did not wait for my neck to numb up at all. When he proceeded to insert the needle, it hurt so I started to cry, he removed some fluid and re inserted the needle, once again it hurt very badly, so I was continuing to cry, he got mad at me and yelled that he was not going to continue with me crying like that and he left the room. As he was leaving I apologized bc it hurt and yet he left and refused to continue. My tech obviously knew what he did was wrong, but didn't say one word to him. I would have expected him to be more professional and understanding that it hurt having a big needle stuck in your throat. Maybe gave me a few minutes to recompense or something. Not just yell and storm out. Very unprofessional and I am very disappointed in my treatment. I will not recommend this radiology department to anyone!!
On my way to Freeman hospital with Heart problems I called them to make sure my insurance was in network. They assured me it was. Then I receive a bill from Gateway Emergency Physicians contracted through Freeman. They are not in my network.
Freeman didn't let me know this. I was thinking what kind of Dirty Rotten Trick is this. I had to call Freeman Hospital President Paula Baker. She said this was billed wrong and they would take care of it, and eventually they did. But it did take many phone calls with Freeman and Gateway. I'm writing this to hopefully help someone who has had the same issue. I would like to encourage you to fight for what is right. Let's put a stop to this injustice that Freeman Hospital isn't disclosing.
As an employee of Freeman I am very upset about the lack of care and communication we have experienced here at Freeman West. Among other issues we explained to the triage nurse that my daughter is allergic to surgical tape, her response was a cold and uncaring... we need specific type and used the tape. We have no choice but to be seen here (maternity issues) I'm apprehensive about what's yet to come.
My girlfriend is here for bleeding and she is pregnant, even though they have great baby care they have the worst wait periods my sister always told me but then I read the reviews and realized damn it's TRUE I've been waiting 5 hrs almost what's wrong with this hospital like damn how do people get seen has anyone died at the hospital waiting that is a serious issue they need more staff the owner or board needs to invest like this is a bad name for joplin mercy is fast not perfect but fast I feel sorry for the sick people in here no one cares
Update- we are leaving going to mercy this is unreal like no joke this is insane people on here all talking about Freeman being horrible waiting hours like everyone some saying go to mercy can't give wait times due to HIPAA laws why is this hospital like this
Brought my mom to the er tonight due to her falling and hitting head on a metal object and being bruised all over her body from falling, I had to pick her up and help carry her into the house. My mom has went once to the hospital in her 63 years so this was a challenge to get her to go to the hospital in the first place.
We got to Freeman west and she was taken to a room immediately after triage.
They did a ct of her head and an X-ray her back, arm and ankle cause these were the areas hurting the worst and was told that she didn’t have any fractures.
(A mri was never considered though we asked for one)
They got her to walk in the hallway with extreme pain and decided to release her because she was able to walk.
Doctor comes in with discharge papers without given her any pain meds or sending her home with pain meds. My wife had to plead for them to send her home with 5 pain pills.
My mom is bruised from head to toe and can’t hardly walk and this is how she is treated. The charge nurse said that the pain was never addressed by us and I know that’s a lie because both me and my wife along with my mom addressed it.
Mom told them that her pain level was at 8 when she was asked.
We have insurance to cover our hospital visit and yet mom was treated horribly and was completely ignored as to how badly she was hurting.
