Waited for 5 hours in the waiting room with my 2 Year old. Finally, left at 2am. Thank GOD my daughter was okay. This is my third experience with this ER , first under Tennova. Nothing is different. I almost died in the ER in 2015 after being sent home while I was miscarrying and almost bled to death. Had to go back the next day for emergency surgery and had to have a blood transfusion. Never again! They need to get it together!!!
The worst ER ever. 2 experiences with 2 of my daughters, in the last few months. Both COMPLETELY different situations. Both got the same shot, the same ibuprofen prescription. The same LACK OF CARE OR CONCERN BY ALL STAFF. This is a hospital, people go to the ER only when they are in desperate need of help. To be left in the waiting room for hours and to be sent away with no help. But wait SIGN THESE DISCHARGE PAPERS SO WE CAN CHARGE YOUR INSURANCE. That is all this hospital cares about. BILLING. And by the way, the billing people are JUST AS RUDE. They should be investigated for insurance fraud. One of my daughters Dr. was sent a report by an ER personnel(not sure if it was an actual Dr.) that she came to the ER in search of an emergency MRI.!! Really? No, she came there in severe pain, with her legs numbing, scared to death. This place is a joke. Only it's not funny. It's people's lives at stake, and their concern is the almighty dollar and that is all. Let me give you an example, if you have to wait a long time, like we did, 6 hours? They actually bill you for an EXTENDED STAY in their Emergency room! Ours was 1400.00+ $ JUST FOR THAT. -ZERO STARS. It's a disgrace.
I brought my son to the ER at 8pm on the advice of the attending nurse for his PCP. She believed he might have appendicitis. I bring him to Tennova and FIVE hours later, the only thing that has been done is a blood draw and vitals checked. They didn't even check to see if his stomach was distended (one of the surest signs of appendicitis). And it's not like the place was busy either. We watched as dozens of people came in, receive treatment, then leave, in the time we were there. I eventually lost my patience watching my son cry from pain and asked how much longer it was going to be sometime after 1am. They told me it was going to be a while longer so we left. I brought him to Vanderbilt, we were in and out in 30 mins. Now I am just looking forward to what they will try to charge us for.
Listen, if it isn't a life threatening situation and you can afford the drive to Nashville, go there. There is absolutely no reason to ever go to this hospital if you can avoid it.
I came into the ER at 7am due to a possible stroke. The staff were quick to attend to me. From the moment I arrived they seamlessly went from one test to another trying to diagnose my condition. The nurses were good, polite and efficient. The different areas that I had to have testing performed in were more than adequate. I was pleased with my level of care in the ER. The three days that I spent in the hospital were not as good. But overall my stay was comfortable and the people were great.
Please for the love take yourself and whoever you care about to Vanderbilt. Tennova is a death trap. Never before have I seen first hand how much doctors only care about insurance coverage rather then the well being of a person. My daughter miscarried her son because of the lack of treatment and she was discharged from Tennova without a care. She could have died by bleeding to death. Thanks to Vanderbilt she is alive but her son did not make it. Rest in Peace Baby Christopher
