Went in with my 18month old and 4 month old at 545pm for the walk-in clinic they say closes at 6pm (posted on their door that they’re open til 7pm), and for turned away. Yes I realize I came in 15 mins before closing but i also work at a financial institution 35mins away, still not a good reason to turn someone away with 2 small children. That makes for bad business! This place is a joke.

Genesis has some of the worst health care and I have been to 4 different providers for multiple conditions. I recommend driving to the cities to Unity Point especially for superior physical therapy and gentle, kind care, or to Galesburg St Mary's or Peoria St. Francis OSF (which did more thorough x rays and actually gave me the reading and had excellent doctors where Genesis gave me the runaround on even reading X rays). Genesis Aledo changed my prescription to another med a year ago without notifying me first. For a severe back condition they never prescribed meds after 3 months after an accident that gave me spasms so finally after reading an article about a girl with disabilities who had to ask for accomodation, I asked for stonger meds, finally speaking up for myself 8 months later. It took them 2 months to schedule physical therapy & a pain dr. for the first time (only a month elsewhere). They ignored giving me antibiotic medicine for 2 days for a common bacteria condition after going to their ER twice, lacking the equipment to monitor it after hours, taking almost 2 hours to get in the ER with only 3 people there. I was getting a growing purple blotch on my leg, only saying go home on an aspirin at Davenport Genesis. After that I was in so much pain I couldn't even drive & hardly walk for a month. They didn't even measuring the rapidly progressing condition, going regularly to the doctor there, until days later, and then told me I just had to wait months for a dermatologist when my leg had a ball size swelling and my right leg was dark red purple on the entire leg past the knee up to the ankle with no feeling in it. They never hospitalized me for the condition, never gave me an overnight stay with antibiotics. 8 days later a nurse that was off hours in Galesburg noticed my condition which was cellulitis and her response was go to the ER right now. Genesis claimed it was only varicose veins at two ERs and did not effectively treat a common bacteria condition, although I was under regular Genesis care the whole time. They had to lance (aka stab surgery) my leg in another Davenport Genesis, bringing out the most fluid that nurse I had ever seen, on only an opiod immediately before surgery. Someone didn't properly communicate at Genesis for dressing which I got, and never scheduled a follow up visit, and the dressing was a fist full of gauze for most of 10 days. The surgery left a big scar. They charged my insurance over $2,000 for cellulitis & surgery even though most of the expenses was their failure in proper care in 2015. In 2016 they refused an MRI that I needed for a severe accident and ignored almost 2 weeks of requests with no contact from a nurse, and because I was complaining they tried to remove me, which is against their own laws for care. I got back by contesting it. I recommend for everyone to take care of your own health care, or if you are very sick and on opiates as I was after a severe accident, a loved one should step up and arrange your medical records. Genesis never had my full neurologist records until this past year, for a two year and permanent disabling condition. They refuse to note permanent back damage from a rollover accident that crushed my spine and left a permanent fracture in my spinal canal as severe or permanent. The pain clinic nurse just yelled at me you are going to get well and the pain doctor said, you are almost recovered.... while giving me new baclofen (muscle spasm meds) and nortriptyline (nerve pain) for a ghost condition they refuse to acknowledge and won't even call it chronic pain or spasms on my record. Their clinic manager tried to pass it off as everyone has back pain. Not everyone was in G-Forces in an accident & has to take regular baclofen, nortripline, and the strongest ibuprofen (I had to wait to go to Unity Point to even be prescribed any kind of pain reliever, I refuse to take harder stuff because my stomach is already usually upset). While nurse Korns and dr. Santiago are excellent, the care varies from 5 stars to 2, and is not reliable quality health care.
