feedback about Grand Strand Regional Medical Center
I got there early as they asked me to I had appointment at 9'0 clock, I got there 8:25. I filled out some info and waited a few minutes and was taken back to change into a gown, and I waited there for them to call me, which was 9:50 AM. I waited till 10:15 and asked how much longer..girl said she would check. She said they were running late but not too much longer. I waited till 10:45 asked again how long, finally at 10:50 I was taken back. I asked the gal why it took so long, she said she had a light that flashes when someone is waiting it didn't flash. So I said way didn't you check for herself to see if anyone was waiting and she said the dumbest thing back to me, I shall quote her words " I should of done that " something should be done about that.
I had other things to do that day, it's not fair for someone to sit that long. Please do something about that.
The Heart Center at Grand Strand Regional Med Center, I've heard such great things about it. Is it great? Not a clue!! Sat in the E R with my sister Nancy Sarvis from noon till 6 PM, with chest pain and feeling bad. Did she get to see a cardiologist? NO!! Did she get a pacemaker technician?? NO!!!!! Can we get a second opinion??? NO!!! The sign says there is a chest pain center as well, wonder how you get in there??? They sent her home in a-fib!! Wish I could give ZERO STARS!!!
My husband had surgery with Dr. Massey on Dec. 27, 2018 at Grand Strand. From admitting until discharge every staff member went above and beyond any care we could hope for. All of the staff in 1 East Ortho, Rn.'s Brittany and Hazel, and especially Care Team member, Jack, were kind and caring to not only my husband, but to all the patients.
Thank you to Dr. Massey, his surgical team, and all the staff for their excellent care.

My husband was transported from our timeshare at about 9:30 pm on September 29, 2017 and passed away September 30, 2017 at 11:05 AM. I was treated with kindness and respect from the ER admitting desk as well as from the nurses, doctors, interns in the ER to the nursing staff in ICU. His surgeons were caring as they explained the severity of his illness. Our children drove through the night and were present when their father passed away. We were treated with care, the staff engaged us in understanding his living will and power of medical attorney wishes. The doctor explained to the three of us what was happening to my husband. When he passed away, the nurse removed equipment so that he would look more natural, and encouraged us to stay with him as long as we wanted. We were treated with compassion! While in the ER he received immediate assessment of his illness, while I gave medical history. I know in my heart that if he could have been saved that the medical staff at this hospital had the knowledge and the heart to do so. We will soon be at the one year anniversary of death of my soul mate of 49 years. I do not remember the names of the medical staff but I do remember that all staff members were committed in providing immediate, compassionate and best practice medical care to my husband as well as providing support for me and our children as we experienced the initial shock and grief of losing our loved one.
I have been a patience here for couple years now. Currently in recovery ICU . The day nurses Danielle and rapid response nurse Jessica where excellent. My surgeon Dr Farrah and his team excellent to work with. Since Oct 23rd on first day of admission everyone has been great . Keep up the hard work everyon
