My son and daughter in law arrived here at 4 am for a childbirth. As grandparents my wife and I came also. We were not permitted in the maternity ward and directed to the ICU waiting room at the other end of the bldg. We were stunned. A security guard asked us what was wrong and we told him. He told us we could wait in the cafe right next to us. We never received any updates. After two hours I checked the website and saw there was a waiting room in the maternity ward and asked. Then we were permitted inside to a small, cold noisy room. No updates or acknowledgement we were there. The only restrooms are outside the ward so you have to buzz in every time. It seems like they discourage family members to be there by making the setting uncomfortable. Bottom line...if your a grandparent, stay home.
OBGYN’s ....These doctors don’t seem to care about what the client wants at all. While the environment seemed friendly they are extremely pushy and manipulative! While having a baby is a big deal it should NOT be this stressful!! They refused to honor her tracking her own blood sugar instead of drinking that 28 wk sugary drink. ( momma and baby had no sugar issues before or after birth) (DR. Hamilton)They mocked me for my birth plan and refused to scan into my file. ( dr. Hamilton) They wanted no parts of it. She wanted to deliver as natural as possible within reason. They seemed very, VERY threatened by that. Why? You tell me! They said baby’s cord was attached to the placenta wrong. ( Dr. Bogotal during stress test) Which it wasn’t ( more on that later) when they wanted to induce her they said her placenta had black spots and it was dying. It wasn’t ( more on that later) they manipulate insurance codes without blinking for unnecessary late term ultra sounds. My pregnancy has been picture perfect. There was so much mockery, manipulation and insurance fraud her blood pressure began to escalate when She walked into their office ( we also checked it before and after visits, it was fine) She no longer felt safe. The straw that broke the camels back was when Dr. Landis threatened me with calling children and youth if I do not allow them to induce me! I ask her straight to her face if she is threatening this young mother, to which she replied she was!. Mom burst into tears right there. She had had enough! It was more than she could handle. No mother to be should hear these words! walked out that day , apparently overdue, NEVER EVER to return. We called them after I talked to my husband and said we changed providers. They DID call children and youth the next day on them for not being induced. Who does this!? Nobody because you can actually, legally have an unassisted home birth in Pennsylvania if you wish. And you can also refuse treatment at anytime as an adult in pa. So, This is medical abuse at its finest! We did ask advice from other providers which helped us to make these decisions. I talked to the “ dean of nurses “where we ended up delivering. We delivered a very healthy baby a few days later. The placenta was beautiful and perfect. The cord was NOT attached wrong at all. We examined it all and the nurses at our new provider were more than happy to show and tell. THIS BEHAVIOR BY THIS GROUP IS UNACCEPTABLE. Do not have your baby with them! If you don’t do what they want they will call children and youth on you! There was absolutely NOTHING else wrong. It was abuse pure and simple. I hope if your a young mom, whichever doctor group you choose you do not go alone. She was so glad to have a birth advocate with her at all her visits who heard and saw all of it. We / I will be filing more complains and sharing our story on social media ect. This is Not the end of this story. I will push this till they correct that call and take it off this beautiful young, hard working, best parents ever record. I will file a complaint with the JOINT COMMISSION FOR ACCREDITATION OF HOSPITALS ORG. and The Montgomery Co commissioner s offices. If I need to go further I will! - birth advocate who heard it all with my own ears.
Been to this ER multiple times. Never really waited long. I was treated once for dog bite. 13 stitches and everything went well for me. My husband has had knee surgery and multiple trips to the ER. The last trip was for appendicitis. Dr. Coyle was awesome!! My husbands surgery went well. The nurses took great care of him during his stay. I have no complaints.
