feedback about Hackensack-Umc Mountainside
I have only ever received excellent care at Mountainside Hospital. The wait times are not terribly long and they are very thorough.
Avoid their ER at all costs. For two recent injuries, I had very substandard care that resulted in complications. In both cases, I was bleeding and in pain and the wait was interminable, both in the waiting room and then in the ER room (the last visit was spent in the hallway). Their ER doctors are from an outside source and most could care less--they spend about 5 minutes tops, write orders, and have a peek at you when you're discharged. The nurses are horribly understaffed and literally running through the halls to try to meet their patients needs. Mountainside needs to step it up. Everyone I know in the area avoids this ER and will go to another hospital
This place is the worst. I went to the emergency room and received sutures for a hand laceration. I was advised that I could return to the ER in one week for FOLLOW UP care to have the sutures removed, so I did just that. A few weeks later, I was mailed copay charges for for 2 separate ER visits. I called to explain that the first visit was ER and that the second was follow-up care, and that the copays should not be the same. I was transferred about 5 separate times before speaking to someone who was actually competent. That person was ultimately no help, informing me there was nothing that could be done, and that I would be held fully liable for both charges. I felt that it was an underhanded and deceitful move on the part of the hospital staff encouraging me to return for "follow up "care when they knew I would be charged another expensive copay for an emergency room visit. Horrible experience, and I won't be returning. I recommend seeking medical care elsewhere.
am happy for the service the docter & nurse very nice the all people god bless you all thanks
The Biggest disgrace of a hospital I’ve ever seen/been to. The nurses aren’t personable and leave you hanging for hours on end and then act like they saw you 5 seconds ago. I had come into the ER on a Monday night for bad back and abdominal pain. Now it being 7 pm getting there and I’ve been dealing with my pain since 9 am. It took them 4 hours of me sitting in a recliner in the hallway of the ER to finally get a room and medication, and medication I mean 3 Tylenol which I had in my medicine cabinet at home. Hackensack meridian health👎🏻. I’m still in pain
