Please stay away from this hospital! I wish someone would have warned me. I am new to the area and made the mistake of going to the ER here. I had sharp terrible pain and cramping accompanied by chronic diarrhea. After being checked in to ER, my entire visit lasted about 6 hours. I asked for the results of the urine and stool test they took and they kept giving me the run around. After 5 1/2 hours a Physician assistant came in to tell me they seem to have lost my tests. Therefore, I would have to retake tests and that could take another 2 hours.

At that point I just asked to please be discharged. The entire experience was a nightmare from hell! No one ever came to check on me even when I would page the nurses station. They kept saying someone will be right there, but no one ever came. I had to disconnect all the monitors myself every time I got up to use the restroom. My room was filthy! The trash can and hamper were overflowing to the brim. The restroom was just as unsanitary. It had no soap and toilet paper rolls lying on a visibly dirty floor. When I asked the nurse for hand soap she looked at me like she could care less.

The next day I was able to get test results from my primary doctor and it turned out I had a life threatening highly contagious bacterial infection. This hospital did nothing for me! They literally sent me home to die! They ignored all the obvious symptoms. They did however send a massive bill to my insurance company. They didn’t forget to do that! And I received a scam letter in the mail of someone impersonating the hospital trying to get some of my personal information. (So it looks like they have people working there that also will try to steal your personal information for profit). Whoever took the time to read this, please please, please go somewhere else for patient care and treatment because this hospital is not where you will receive it.

I have never once had a bad experience here. I’ve given birth, had surgery, and been to the ER twice and everyone I have encountered here has been very friendly and efficient. I was in and out of the ER tonight in an hour and half.

Needs to better train staff to handle grieving families. The chaplain used the words "put him in a refrigerator" and "ship" him to the funeral home. They hounded us about where to take the body not even twenty minutes after time of death, while everything else while we were there took hours. And the nurse in ICU should really be able to handle frustrated family without returning the attitude. And then said nurse handed a toe tag to a person who was sobbing to make them sign it and then started describing that it would go on his body. They definitely need better training in these situations. The member of the palliative care team, Jesse, is the only reason this got the two stars it did. She was amazing. Unfortunately her shift had ended when he passed.

I have never been more upset with a hospital than I have with this one tonight. Walked in and no one was waiting. Get checked in and they told me they would be right with me that they were slow. I get things happen but there is no reason for me to sit in the bed for 3 hours before a nurse even came in the room! I just walked out and will I guess go to Louisville from now on.

The ER here needs serious help with prioritization and triage.

Not every patient needs a room and can be handled quickly in the triage area and sent home. To have people waiting for a room just to see a doctor is an embarrassment to people’s time and humanity.

Some guy came in for a migraine and needed a quick shot and sent home and they still told him he had to wait for a room. I get if you need stitches or having breathing problems and need to stay a while but quick first aid stuff shouldn’t take 2+ hours. This guy look like he was firing trying to sleep on that couch.
