feedback about Harrington Memorial Hospital
Constant cases of misdiagnosing patients.
The staff doesn't seem to know how to treat most things outside of a broken finger.
The interior is to small for a hospital as one person can block a large portion of important areas.
and 'Sanitation' seems to be the last thing which is thought about as I have found quite abit of spiders and beetles lurking about the joint when I was visiting a family member being treated there.
If you ever need to go to a hospital and have the option to pick, don't pick this one.
This is honestly the worst hospital in the United States. They misdiagnosed my niece who ended up having neuroblastoma cancer. The removed my wifes gall bladder which they didnt have, come to find out it was acid reflux. They are discourteous in every way, the nurses have a lackluster, drug debilitating attitude. Went yesterday to have my son diagnosed with a concussion cared for. Didn't see the inside of a room until about 5 hours in. The overweight dumb non sensical blonde nurse took 1 hr to bring back a water! The Doctor was alright. The security staff is alright but a lot of those nurses feel like stage actors that never made!!! I will never use this hospital ever again... I dont know why I think they can do the most remedial of tasks!
Went in for some testing- CT Scan and also an Ultrasound of my heart - both times the nurses and technicians were excellent and efficient!
My wife was sent to the emergency room last July 14, 2017 with a bowel blockage. They did have security, but that is for the protection of the patients and staff. My wife was taken in right away while I had to empty my pockets. The staff was as courteous as I would expect in an emergency room situation. There usually very little time for small talk. She was admitted later that evening. We have nothing but good things to say about the staff at the hospital. Also We feel that the cancer center there has to be one of the best available. If anyone is worried about being sent to Harrington Hospital. I would rather be sent there than to Worcester as the care is the same or better.
I have tried to be an advocate to get my mother the care she needs. I have now been ‘confronted’ in the hall by 2 different Hospitalists. One actually complained that a nurse said my family said something derogatory about her. I told her I had no idea what she was talking about. The idea that a nurse is starting gossip with other staff, that then affects the care the patient receives, is jus appalling. I have never seen such unprofessional behavior in a medical facility. Another Hospitalist informed me that I was welcome to take my mother somewhere else. If I had known then what I know now, believe me I would have. My mother contracted C-diff there, and they shipped her out to rehab to infect people there. Some people there are very good, but unfortunately that’s completely offset by many people who have no business working in the medical profession. This hospital used to be very good. What the heck changed?!!!!
