My husband was taken to this hospital by ambulance. He had an accident on his dirt bike. His experience with the hospital & staff were wonderful. They were very caring & thorough. In the event of another emergency, we would not hesitate to go back. *My husband legally carries a weapon . Of course being up north he always does. (We have a cabin/property in Hulbert). He had the weapon on him when he wrecked the bike. This bike is plated & legal to be on the road. A police officer came into his room to question him (the weapon was in the possession of the officer). I understand they have a protocol. He wanted my husband to tell him the serial number on the gun. Then he asked what the license plate number was on the bike. How many people know the serial number of there weapon? My husband was on a spine board & neck collar along with pain meds. He had 2 broken ribs. The officer (I dont know his name) could have handled that much differently. The questions he asked were not questions someone who had just wrecked a dirt bike are going to know especially after pain meds. My husband had his conceal carry permit on him. Im not sure why that wasnt the first question other than serial & plate numbers. The nurse had to cut the officer off by saying “ok, its my turn”. We have a very good friend who is a state trooper & we always back the blue. I just feel that situation could have been handled differently. The hospital experience was perfect. We couldn't have asked for anything any better. Thank you for taking care of him!

I have had several visits here with my kids and all my visits have been exceptional. My background is nursing so I feel like I'm a difficult person to please but have always left here feeling like my family has been well cared for. I would definitely recommend this facility to anyone needing their services.

Dr. Bryant performed two procedures, one of which, was a surgery. I received EXCELLENT care! The Anesthesiologists were amazing! I could not have asked for better treatment!!

We were on a camping trip when my son developed extreme abdominal pain. We took him to the ER here because it was the closest hospital. That was a mistake. They kept him for most of the evening and sent him home without doing anything for him. We returned two days later as nothing had improved. We spent several hours in the ER with only seeing the doctor for a few minutes. They said it was a bacterial infection and were going to again release him without doing anything. When I argued the doctor asked me what I wanted him to be given. I suggested that he as the doctor should know that. They did finally give him something to help with pain before we left. We received the bill for the first ER visit a couple weeks later. The bill for the second visit came 2 months later. All in all they billed our insurance company more than $9,000! I called to ask for an itemized bill and dispute the charges. They took note of my dispute and said they would get back to me. I did not receive an itemized bill. More than a month later I received a final notice saying our bill was being sent to collections. Dealing with this hospital has been extremely frustrating both at the care end and on the billing end.

If I could give zero stars I would. Went to the ER at 5:30 a.m. this morning. I've been out of my anxiety medication for nearly two weeks. I hadn't slept in a few days and was looking to get some help from the ER. They did some tests and checked my vitals and kept me waiting for several hours. When I asked what was going on they informed me they were sending a counselor over. They never told me that. So while I'm wondering if they're going to give me anything to help my anxiety the nurse came in and asked me how methamphetamine showed up in my urine. Shocked at what she was suggesting I became very upset and left the ER. When I came home I looked up my medications and found that a prescribed diet supplement I have been taking will most certainly give a false positive for methamphetamine. So, I diagnosed that I should not be taking them, especially without my Zoloft. I am so angry. That nurse treated me like I was some kind of meth head. You depend on people to know how to do their job. I was in an extreme state of panic for several days. I could not remember all of my medications. I went to the ER for help. Instead, I was made to feel even worse. I will not be going back to Newberry Joy Hospital anytime soon. I would highly advise anyone seeking help from this ER find another alternative as well.
