Henry County Medical Center

I have had to visit HCMC far to many times in these past few months, but my experience has always been the same. I know that people will experience different wait times due to patient load and the severity of their condition compared to others and the we don't always know what is going on behind the closed doors. Today 6/26/19 I had to use the emergency room for my second kidney stone. I was treated with respect and compassion by the admissions clerk as she did her job with the utmost proficiency. I had to wait about five minutes and a nurse came and got me settled in to an examination room. She also did her job effectively and proficiently and through her experience was able to get with the doctor who immediately prescribed pain and anti nausea medication to ease my suffering. A CT scan was done with in 10 minutes to verify my condition. The doctor discussed my options with me and we decided on a course of treatment. Again I know others may have a different experience, but please try to remember that there are things happening behind the doors that we don't know about. They are not leaving you sitting out there because they want to. Treat them with respect and understanding. In my opinion this is the premier hospital In our area.

Waited for four hours and when they finally took me back they didn’t even do the blood work I was sent there for. Then after being there till 1 in the morning, I got to leave. The doctor said nothing was wrong, but the nurse said he should have talked to me about following up, as if something were wrong. Nobody asked for my insurance information, so when I got a bill for almost a grand a week later, you can bet I was irritated. On top of that, not a single nurse knew what was going on, poor communication, coupled with a general lack of professionalism makes me wonder how they get anything done. Personal opinion? If you cut your leg off, try rubbing dirt in the wound. It would at least be quicker and cheaper than visiting this place and would have about the same results.

Love this hospital. They always do every test that they need to do to find out EXACTLY what all is wrong with your child or even yourself. I drive over 20 (+) miles every time just to go to this hospital!!!!!!

Absolutely the worst E.R. I've ever been to. If I could give them negative stars I would! I have no idea where I will go for any future emergencies but this place is definitely not it.

just had a procedeure done here the other day. staff is excellent. food is great. did I tell you the people are absolutely wonderful? why go to jackson or memphis? when all the stuff you need is here?
