feedback about Highland Hospital
I would just like to say I love the women's clinic/services. They were so nice and were able to help me with my needs right away. If your looking for a nurse practitioner, ask for Mindy Brown-Lechner, FNP-BC she made me feel so comfortable and took her time with me. Thank you ladies so much!! Will be coming back!
The nurses and staff here were excellent, very polite and friendly. And they helped me resolve a personal health issue. I was very pleased with the same-day clinic service after calling in to get an appointment in the morning!
I have a great Doctor with exceptional communication skills, personable caring and lots of patience with all his patients. It's rare to find doctors today's which haves this caliber all rolled up in one. Thank you Dr. Hoffman for your services.
Dirty, filthy ER, Rude security, Doctors don't communicate with you or answer questions. Nurses where nice but they are limited to there scope of work. Which is why they have the seconds star. Watched two people walk out. This is not a comforting place to go for immediate medical attention. I would only go if I was bleeding bleeding out or had had a broken limb. Otherwise ask your Paramedic for a different location. 1st and last time ever....
Staff needs to be trained in customer service! I was in the finance department looking for information about coverage. I spoke with Veronica Melacios a financial counselor and she had a unwelcoming attitude and was very rude. I asked very simple questions and received responses by her such as "Don't put words in my mouth" She is not qualified and does not have the correct attitude to serve customers. She also called her supervisor which appeared to look like her home girl to talk to me because I did not appreciate her terrible attitude! I did not ask to speak with her supervisor but she insisted I have a word with her? Just received a letter in the mail saying that I dont qualify for coverage because the Federal Poverty limit is $1,800 in the whole country including California? In Alameda County, Oakland poverty limit is at $2,800 and SF the counties poverty limit is at $100,000 so disqualifying people based on the federal government's guide lines on the state level which is then at a county level poverty limit is misleading and not accurate!
Also, Veranica told her supervisor that I was recording her which was not the case but seeing that Highland Hospital is a public facility it's not illegal to record, which her supervisor stated. If I did have a video I would post it so everyone could see how unqualified some of the people working there are!
These people are not tax professionals and should not be allowed to look at your tax return but should be asking for a tax transcript! With information required to determine eligibility! I recall her stating, "Word to mouth you don't qualify."
Also, telling someone they are disqualified before even looking at their tax return is wrong because Veronica is turning people away without anyone looking to determine proper eligibility.
I will escalate my encounter with all the people that interacted with me!
