feedback about Holyoke Medical Center
I walked in suffering from a kidney stone and was taken right away. It is a very streamlined system and the nurses were very kind and attentive. They can get very busy and you have to be patient.
Follow the sign on the highway for a hospital as I was desperately in need throwing up trying to get to Springfield. Dr. Currie were on shift. Upon being admitted this provider walked into the room said we can't do anything for you you're not going to consult with any specialist here we're not going to do any Imaging. Treated me as if I was drug-seeking when I have a full script of pain medication. Very unprofessional. No continuity of care to pick the phone up and call somebody who could figure out this complex city that is causing insufferable existence. I have never been to an emergency room in which the doctor comes in and says because of your medical history we're not touching you go home and suffer until somebody else can get you an appointment with a provider. I think maybe this emergency room maybe more accustomed to sprains, strains and straightforward textbook care. When it comes to reaching outside the box and wanting to really help out not the average patient you're not going to get any kind of knowledge, expertise, or even offered any kind of consultation with the appropriate Specialists required. If you don't know what the problem is and you're not even willing to speak to somebody who may be able to figure it out what kind of doctor does that make you? When you go to bed at night and you wake up are you really helping people or are you just going through the motions? Holyoke money into the look of the facility and not enough money in to the doctors providing care to the community.
This hospital was such an awesome place BEFORE the new ER room! Not only are they slower now than when the ER was smaller, the staff is not the same. It doesn't have the friendly caring attitude or caring friendly doctors and nurses it once had. I now go to mercy hospital. Holyoke Medical center is not the same 👎
Not that this hospital needs another one-star review, but this rating is specifically targeted towards the psychiatric ward of Holyoke Hospital. I was a patient in the early 2000's. Reading through past reviews, I was disturbed and concerned to find several reviews pointing a finger at the same male head psychiatrist prescribing medications to patients admitted between 2005 and 2007 who is described as being abusive and misogynistic. Will you release the name of this individual, or at the least, refer the public to a full listing of all doctors and psychiatrists working at the ward during that time frame? I have no way of pursuing legal action or seeking justice if I cannot recall the name of the individual who harassed and belittled me as a new patient and prescribed me SSRIs against my will. I thank you in advance for your cooperation, for myself and in the name of the many past patients who were abused under your care.
Going to do blood work the valet saw me the only black in the building took it upon himself to be a security stopped me in tye midst of going from one apointnent to the other to asked me what am i doing there? I didn't ask him for his help nor was my business any of his concern. I ignored him policing me but i honestly should of done paper on such incident of harassment Aldo. 2 what i went for i wasn't treated as if my issue was taken seriously. I felt that i was lumped into the category of minorities who aren't given proper care because of their color. Honestly if i have other options i will choose to go else where
