AVOID THIS ER UNLESS YOU ENJOY WAITING AND DEALING WITH UNFRIENDLY ER STAFF!
GO to Virginia Hospital ER as they have faster service and less wait time!
First of all, sorry for the ALL CAPS but I need to emphasize something AND SAVE YOU PEOPLE SOME PRECIOUS TIME.
DO NOT GO TO INOVA FAIR OAKS HOSPITAL ER UNLESS YOU WANNA WAIT FOREVER.
THIS ER HAS THE MOST WAIT TIME AND THE STAFF LACKS EMPATHY AND UNFRIENDLY (Save some ).
WENT IN TO BE SEEN FOR A VERY CRIPPLING STOMACH PAIN. I WAS SEEN BY TRIAGE NURSE AFTER ABOUT HALF AN HOUR. THEN I WAS TOLD THERE WAS NO ROOM FOR ME AS THEY ARE STILL DISCHARGING PATIENTS. I WAITED CLOSE TO TWO HOURS AND NO LUCK. IT WAS NOW 3 HOURS OF WAITING.
I HAD ENOUGH AND LEFT FOR VIRGINIA HOSPITAL CENTER IN ARLINGTON.
UPON ARRIVING AT THE VA HOSPITAL ER, I WAS SEEN WITHIN 5 MINUTES BY A TRIAGE NURSE, A NURSE ASSISTANT, AND MIND YOU, A PHYSICIAN ASSISTANT, WHO IMMEDIATELY ORDERED BLOOD WORK AFTER A BRIEF QUESTIONING!!!!
IN LESS THAN 30 MINUTES, I WAS INSIDE THE ER WITH MY NURSE. THE STAFF WERE VERY Friendly and showed empathy toward me. The ER doc followed suit who immediately ordered an ultrasound of my abdomen and had IV put in. I was out from VA HOSPITAL in less time than I was waiting at INOVA FAIR OAKS ER!
THEY SAVED MY LIFE! I was rushed by ambulance to Inova Mount Vernon, only to be misdiagnosed with a stomach bug, and sent home. After several hours of gradually getting worse, my wife rushed me to Inova Fair Oaks where I was immediately attended to, and given a simple 5 minute scan that the first hospital did not conduct. With this scan, they were able to clearly see that my appendix was about to burst and they admitted me immediately and scheduled me for an emergency appendectomy. Everyone was great at this place. From the surgeon, to the room cleaner, everyone was excellent! Not only will I be going to Fair Oaks for any of my hospital needs but I will be moving closer to the hospital. I feel that living close to a good hospital is just as important as living in a good school district. Thank you for commitment to EXCELLENCE!
I found two BD Vacutainer full of another patients blood underneath the pillow in the room!
I would have given it 5stars if they would have given me the same experience during this delivery as the first...I picked this one even though it was a 30 min drive from home but was disappointed with the service given. The staff was lacking in the area of providing sufficient information when they came in for documentation and stuff..we were given maybe the tiniest room for which I would give 1star, I think giving a properly sized room to postpartum mother's is important coz they need space to deal with themselves and the baby..but other than that the nurses get a 4star, dining service 4star, sanitation and cleanliness 3star( dint come regular), the lactation consultants were very helpful 4 star. All together
I hope they improve in the areas they lack.
Man these reviews are very critical.
