My wife and I were on vacation on Lake Travis and my 13 month old decided to try and climb the bar stool and tipped over on to his head. For the next 24 hrs my son continued to projectile vomit. The longest we could go was an hour between episodes. Our worry began when he became quite lethargic and sleepy. So we took him in to the ER. We were greeted prompt, taken back just as promptly. The ER nurse from the beginning was very nice and attentive. The ER DR was quickly in the room to assess our sons condition and recommended a head CT. I was shocked at how quickly radiology was there to pick him up. They even allowed me to be in the room while the procedure was performed, which I was Extremely grateful for being able to be there to console my son. I have read many horrible and negative reviews on here. From my point of view I was very pleased with the care in which we received. I would love to post the names of each individual who cared for my son, but protecting them is important too. This review is as of the date seen in the ER. It truly is a beautiful hospital. I wish we had a place like this in our home town. I have not been billed of course or dealt with anything on that scale but if I see or have any updates regarding billing issues I will update this post.
I have not had surgery with S & W but hope my comments will be posted. I am scheduled for back surgery on the 9th with Dr. Michael Webb.
The representative who responds to the complaints here is obviously using a computer in which he/she only has to change the name! There is absolutely no true empathy and concern on their part.
To me, this is a representation of the staff as these patients point out.
I would highly recommend this hospital to anyone. The staff took great care of me.
My husband was scheduled (and rescheduled) for a stress test. Blue Cross Blue Shield insurance approves this facility as in network. However, without previous approval, an out of network doctor was used and the entire cost of the doctor had to be paid since the amount paid went towards an out of network deductible. My husband would have gone to a facility where the doctor and testing were in network had he been informed before the test. Caution: Make sure all tests, and doctors are in network before using this facility.
When our daughter began complaining of pain at 10:30PM on a Saturday, while visiting from out of town, we scoured for urgent care or ERs open within a reasonable drive of Spicewood. The area choice was an urgent care that had an associated after hours ER or Baylor Scott. Familiar with Baylor College of Medicine in Houston (have no idea if related) we went with Baylor.
From the emergency room check-in, registration, and nurse escort to the patient room took less than 10 minutes! Nurse discussion, doctor interaction, and test results were complete within another 50 minutes. We've never had an ER visit that expeditious.
It may have been a slow night for the hospital, but start to finish was sensitive to our daughter's condition. Thank you for the professional medical care and the pleasant experience considering the factors.
