My 15month old nephew was sent to Montgomery today from his pediatric doctor for wheezing and to be monitored for shortness of breath they took us right in the triage nurse was ABSOLUTELY AMAZING they moved us to a room with in 15min and Dr. Ekey was there to see us with in 10min and he was fabulous with everything he did from his bed side manners, keeping us up dated on what was going on, came back with super fast test results he was all around the best Doctor by far I have had to deal with in a very very long time and ALL the nurses from start to finish were amazing in every step they took! Thank you all for such a great experience in such a scary time with our nephew 💙 so much love to ALL the staff of the ER that was working today 12/6 you guys are amazing and deserve to be praised for your out standing work today❤💪!
My Mom was transferred to Montgomery General Hospital with a broken neck on 12/23/2018. She had surgery on 12/24/2018. My family and I could not be happier with the outstanding service my Mom and family have received. The doctors, the nursing staff and the administration having been very compassionate during this very trying time. I really don't believe my Mom could have received any better treatment at any other hospital. Thank you Montgomery General Hospital.
I went to the ED after an auto accident in April 2018. They refused to bill my health insurance for medical services and instead insisted on billing me *personally*, saying I'd have to seek reimbursement from the auto insurance company of the man who hit me. The reason for this is because LewisGale, like every hospital, has discount agreements with health insurers. They charge insurers a discounted rate for medical services in order to be considered an in-network provider. They have no such arrangement with individuals. So they wanted to charge me personally for services because they could charge me 100%. Of course, this is terrible for the patient, who then has thousands in medical bills and the stress of trying to submit them to an auto insurance company for reimbursement. I sadly had to get a lawyer to deal with this hospital's nonsense. But what about the people who are in accidents where no clear fault exists or who are themselves at fault? We have health coverage for a reason. Medical providers need to bill health insurance providers. It is then up to the health insurance company to seek reimbursement from auto insurance providers if the laws in that particular region permit it. That burden should *never* fall on the patient.
We had a great experience this evening at the ER. My four year old daughter had been throwing up the whole day and after not being able to hold any liquids since she woke up, we were advised by our perdiatrcian’s office to take her into an ER (it was a Sunday night). When we arrived, there was no wait time. After handing our basic information, we were escorted to the triage room. Everyone that we encountered- from the nurses and doctors to the administrative staff—was kind and helpful, and tried really hard to make my (obviously sick) little one smile. Most importantly, the treatment we received helped her quickly and effectively. We are back home now and for the first time in 24hrs she is able to hold some rice and water. Thank you all!
Worst possible experience...15 sec exam n sent home to suffer for next 2-14 days with no relief...They actually suggested Home remedies for next 14 days that medicine could fix in 2. Maybe its just me but i think if possible a person should feel better coming out then when they came in. Didnt care how i felt...just decided it was insignificant enough for their attention. Individuality & comfort they claim to care about is non-existent.
