Pathetic excuse for a hospital. Went in around 10pm because of an infection that was causing me an immense amount of pain. There were around 7-8 other groups/people there. I waited three hours and never saw the doctor once. Told my nurse I was done waiting and was forced to stay another 15 minutes for discharge. I won't have anything to do with this hospital again unless I'm on a stretcher.

Changed my mind after a surgery that basically saved my life, to just complain about pain meds is silly. They definitely need a pain management doctor because each doctorsresident makes calls. Some are good some not good. But as a whole the place is great staff is awesome there is always some bad apples but so far I am happy but looking forward to getting better and going home. Only thing if you end up on the 4th floor with a nurse named Samantha run and hide only terrible nurse I had. Don't trust the social workers they are terrible at there jobs

This hospital is an absolute disgrace. My dad got sick last year, and sought help from this hospital. They did a bunch of pet scans, cat scans, ct scans, and biopsies, and still couldn't figure out what was wrong with him. Finally, his doctor returned from vacation to tell him abruptly that he had cancer, when no one had mentioned it before. Then they backed off and said they weren't sure what was wrong with him and needed to do more tests. In addition, they also did an unnecessary exploratory surgery on him, without consulting with family members or allowing him to confer with them first, and the doctor later claimed that my dad had given consent to the operation when he was on the operating table for a biopsy and was under anesthesia. The surgery was a disaster and only set him back. Ultimately, we got a second opinion from Albany Med, who immediately diagnosed him with 4th stage pancreatic cancer. The bumblers at Bassett had been unable to figure this out for months. Not only that, they continually delayed his treatment and evaluation, seemingly for the purpose of doing as many tests as possible and collect as much money as they could from his generous health insurance. Furthermore, there appears to be no communication between departments at this hospital, and we were even told once that one section of the hospital couldn't transfer records from another area of the hospital because they used different computer programs! I have heard a lot of horror stories about this hospital from others, such as the wrong shoulder being operated on, or completely unnecessary and incompetent surgeries being performed, but now from my direct experience I believe the reports to be true. The American medical system is a cash-sucking, drug-pushing abomination, in service of the obscene salaries of doctors who start out with pay of half a million dollars a year, and the powerful pharmeceutical companies whose lobbyists pull the strings of our politicians, and I think Bassett is a prime example.

I would definitely not waste my time visiting the Bassett Facility for a medical condition of ANY KIND! Our dogs veterinarian clinic runs more efficiently than they do. They are understaffed and overbooked. They have been unprepared for my past 2 appointments and I have been sent back home and have been asked to resescheule
