This place was disgusting. I found dried blood in the hospital room My mom was staying in. I took pictures for proof. We got there at 9:44pm and didn’t leave until 12:50. A women walked in unannounced and took my moms papers and then left, never to come back. And then this lady walked in and took MY blood pressure I wasn’t even the patient! And then she discharged ME! Once again not even the patient.

My husband and I walked in with gushing blood out of his forehead. While a lady at the front desk stared at me, I walked to the kiosk after I helped my husband and his bloody towel to the chair. This lady didn't bother to ask me if immediate assistance was needed. Since he had never been a patient before I knew I needed paperwork to get him registered. I quickly asked her for the papers which she did not even speak to me or even have the look of a person who likes to help people, but instead she handed me a clipboard and then sat back at her computer. Very rude person. We get taken back after sitting for 20 minutes to have 3 different sets of people come in, the 3rd being the doctor who stated he was going to put in the sutures. A nurse brought in everything needed after an hour from seeing the doctor and here it is 2 hours later and still the wound hasn't been cleaned or sutured. He was not even given a clean towel to keep it from bleeding more, but had to continue using the dirty towel given to him by a bystander where he fell. So if this ends up being infected then who do we go to about that? Back to the hospital who doesn't seem to care? Now they send in someone for insurance information prior to him being treated because I guess it's more important. So basically it's more about money than people. Being a medical assistant for over 13 years I have never been more sickened by a situation like I am today. The doctor was nice as well as his assistant and the nurse, but the time which is now 3 hours and still not discharged, the front receptionists and the sheer disregard for what's right in the situation was appalling. It's so irritating to see 4 nurses sitting at a desk doing nothing while we wait to be discharged.

Every visit there has been a nightmare. Once in the ER they screwed up the simple process of taking a blood sample.

They let a student do their first ever live attempt on me. Blood was splattered on the walls, my arm was soaked with blood and soaked the sheets/hospital gown. The person with me even asked if she needed help. It looked like a crime scene.

Another time I was admitted they overdosed me on morphine, not realizing they gave twice the normal dose until after.

Another time they also accidentally doubled the dose of nitroglycerin. 4 days later a nurse told me I was lucky I came in because they said it was something quite serious. The day after that the money people came in. I said I had no insurance... later that day they told me I was fine and could go home, what a miracle!

I went in once because I was barely able to stand from immense back pain. The doctor came in, said "you're sitting so you must be fine" and left after less than a minute. The bill was still a few thousand.

Yet another time I had to take the ambulance there. The bill? Over $4000. All they did was check my blood pressure on the way. Does that thing run on gold?

The billing is a joke. Every department and every doctor will send you a separate bill. So expect to see a flood of bills in the mail.

A former employee used to tell me about how often people would be shocked to find out their stay cost them over $10,000 a day, just for the room. That is not including the other bills they would get.

Then there is the ER. I've seen people in labor sitting there screaming, someone with a large hook stuck through their face people vomiting all over themselves... and they just have to sit there and wait a few hours to go behind the door, then a few more hours behind that. Even if the ER does no tests or anything on you, you can expect to ve there over 8-12 hours. I'd rather have dental surgery at the DMV.

The final straw against them would personally knowing 2 families that lost a love one there due to being given the wrong medication.

This 'for profit' hospital is a disgrace.

I gave them one star because I couldn't give them a ZERO! This is where people go to die. They run around and gossip. No one does their job. They have zero compassion. You will sit there for hours upon hours without being checked or helped. Absolute WORST hospital EVER! I cant believe they're still open. Trash.

My mother was transported to MWH by ambulance and is a patient there right now. The care she has received has been absolutely abysmal. The staff is incompetent and it saddens me to write this about a hospital that used to be excellent. Stafford Hospital is much better but due to my mother's particular circumstance the ENT advised she be transported here. Big mistake. The nurses are the worst I have ever seen. They stood around eating pizza while I waited at the nurse's station for assistance for my mother. The head nurse was rude, condescending and incoherent and I had to have a physician call me when I was home because my mother called three times to complain about the care she was receiving after I was assured 3 times that the issues were being resolved. My father is there right now because her arms are black and blue from constantly incompetent attempts to draw blood. I am a nurse myself and I am ashamed for my profession. Yesterday I had a surgical procedure at Stafford Hospital and the staff was excellent and efficient. It is hard to believe that they are part of the same network. Administrators at this hospital need to get competent staff, enough of them, monitor the floors and do better. This is absolutely abysmal. I have pictures of my mother's arms and am tempted to post them but I will wait for the end of the day to see this hospital cares enough about its reputation to prevent my needing to.
