A hell-hole you should only go to if you want to be treated like garbage or die.
2008- My grandfather was dying of cancer and was told he had the FLU. He got a proper diagnosis after getting a second opinion at Wake Forest. Not that it mattered, because he died not long after.
2012- I was treated terribly and called nasty names. Talked down to as if every nurse I encountered thought I was a moron. Told I was stupid. Given attitude when I gave none back, because I was distressed. Then after waiting for HOURS, forced to take irrelevant tests I didn't need nor consent to. Not a lot of people in the ER that night, but plenty of staff slacking off and taking their time talking instead of working. Was given my "diagnosis" by being dragged into triage, where the lights were off. Nurse did not turn the light on... sketchy. She pulled me in there to tell me the diagnosis and sent me on my way.
Went to a proper doctor SEVERAL times since this to be cleared, and have done nothing to treat the problem they told me I had. I was given a false diagnosis.
Somehow I'm finally getting calls from debt collectors. I just really don't see why I should pay it considering my experience. Unfortunately for me, too much time has passed for me to step up and take the action I should have back then.
