ELLEN FORRESTER

A family member of mine with diagnosed AFIB, Leaky Heart Valve and Dish Disease (arthritic) had chest pains and pressure so bad that he was taken to this hospital. Upon arrival they are told it'll take at least 4 to 6 hrs. to be seen at the earliest... He didn't want to leave because his heart dr. is on staff there..He arrived in the early evening.. While it's difficult for him to just sit in a recliner sitting in a waiting room chair takes a toll on his body.. BUT,, they didn't care... rules are rules you know... So at 1:00 AM the next morning he's still sitting there and can't take it..He leaves... pressure is still there... chest pains are still there... but he goes home.. So much for Mercy within this hospitals name. Even when it was Jefferson Memorial they weren't this bad...!! Horrible. I can see why they have 21/2 star rating.. And that's a compliment!

Mercy has the worst billing department I think I've ever seen. They refuse to help you any way shape or form if you have job and go to work everyday. I tried everything I could work with them to pay my bill off and they refused any payment other than what they wanted. Now my bill is in collections I've never had a thing go to collection in my life. Do not do business with this place.

I had a MRI appointment at Mercy Jefferson at 9:45. I was asked to get there 30 minutes early. I actually got there at 10 minutes after nine. I checked in at the Entrance Front Desk & after putting on my bracelet I was asked if I knew where it was located. I said yes & walked down to the waiting room. As soon as I sat down I noticed a sign saying to go to the next waiting room if I am having a procedure, so I did just that. After sitting there for 45 minutes I walked out in the hallway to see if I could find someone & when I did she said "they were looking for me" I said "well I've been in waiting room No. 2 for 45 minutes. She then replied I was wrong to do that and should of stopped & check in out in the desk in the lobby. I said if I knew that I would of been glad to do so. So once again Jefferson Mercy takes a simple task and turns it into a problematic thing. All this could of been avoided with up to date signage and employees that actually interested in making things run smoothly.

My boyfriend had a toe nail remove. The doctor told him not to stand on it for three days but he can go back to work. They gave him a note saying he can go back to work. But forgot to put he can’t be on it for three days. So we went back and they told him they can’t give him another one that he has to go to his primary doctor and he doesn’t have one because he has no insurance. Now he’s going to get fired thanks mercy Jefferson. You had no problem giving me a doctors not stating I can’t go back to work for a few day because I had a problem and I was pregnant.

If you are or your loved one is elderly, do not utilize this hospital especially NOT the ICU. They push you to remove ventilators, they make you feel like there is no hope...your options will be taken away by ICU doctors. So many elderly people dying at this place. Just don't do it!
