Went to urgent care when an allergy attack turned into pink eye and ear infection on a weekend when my dr office closed. Care was fine, not great or bad, just fine. That’s why the get two stars from me instead of one.
My problem is with the billing department. Insurance benefits cover urgent care visit with a copay. Paid when there but fee was higher than I expected, didn’t feel well enough to argue, thought I could deal with it later. Wrong decision.
They charged me urgent care copay plus an “office visit” that gets charged towards my deductible plus overcharged on top of all that. After going around and around with hospital and insurance, I have recovered the overcharge but they will not refund the duplicate charge for the “office visit” that never happened. While this may be legally justified in our broken system, it is highly unethical and immoral.
This has convinced me that I will never willingly go back to troy mercy even when it is the closest option and will go out of my way to tell others not to go to troy mercy. I will continue to try to recover this unethical charge but hold little hope.
Troy mercy, I hope you enjoyed your $80 “office visit.” It has cost you at least one customer and possibly more with the negative reviews I will be sharing liberally.
I went to Mercy's Urgent Care in Troy Mo with back pain traveling down my right leg. A nurse named Marsha came out to the lobby and told me they could not help me. If I wanted anything I would have to go to the Emergency room or see my doctor. I explained to her I had this pain for a week and had also fallen the previous week which could have possibly added to the situation. This fell on deaf ears. I understand the concerns about pain medications but I never asked for any. I was seen for back pain in 6/2017 and the doctor treated my back pain with muscle relaxers which worked very well. Marsha of course did not know this because she never asked. I felt the minute I complained of back pain I was perceived as drug seeking and shown the door. I would not recommended this facility to anyone.
wish i could give them 0 stars 🤷🏼♀️
Do yourself a favor. Avoid this place at all costs. Go to Barnes Jewish in St Peters, or Progress West off of K. Any Barnes Jewish hospital.Troy, hospitals, meaning Mercy, are horrible.
From the moment we arrived in the Urgent Care until we were discharged after my son's appendectomy surgery we were treated with compassion, kindness, and dignity from every person who cared for our son. The surgical nurses went above and beyond to reassure us and came to visit our son the day after surgery just to check on him. The nurses on the floor were there to answer every question and assist us in any way we needed, always promptly and with a smile. We haven't been home for 24 hours yet, and the surgeon has already called just to check on my son! I am pleasantly amazed at the care we received at Mercy Hospital Lincoln!
