The nurses were the best. I would recommend this hospital to everyone. Best experience ever!!
I come to the ER because of sore throat, fever, aches, chills chest pain and nausea! I get there and the front desk person seems like he doesn’t seem to want to help and then once in back the nurses didn’t introduce themselves and immediately went into asking me why I was there! The male nurse was acting as though he didn’t want to touch the pen after I wrote with it! Not knowing that I am also a nurse, he did a rapid strep test on me and also a flu test! He did not swab my throat...just my tongue and he did not swab my nose correctly! I told them about the chest and back pain as well and they didn’t even think to do an X-ray! Went to another hospital and my Strep came back positive! The doctor was no help either!
I have met my high deductible this year, so I was very certain to ask several intake employees if anything would be out of network. The intake employee that I initially spoke with via phone said that anyone who touched me would be in network and so did the intake woman that you see when you first arrive. The intake employee at the hospital assured me that the hospital is in network, therefore anyone who sees me in the hospital is automatically in network. Surprise surprise, one month later I receive a bill from the surgery internists for $219 because they are not in network. This should not be allowed. This is not right. Especially when I go to the trouble of trying to verify that everyone will be in network. I hope that I do not have other out of network bills pouring in like others have had.
I received excellent care here with the exception of one nurse. I also think that they should provide a guest meal for those that stay in the room with the patient.
I had a surgery back in October 2013 and scheduled at 8am and it was delayed till noon time. My ENT doctors were delayed due to an emergency probably? However, the worst part is that staffs are NOT very well trained n caring. After 2 hurs being put in bed n waiting, I became very thirsty and I coudln't get out of the bed. I asked my mom to go toward to the white staffs at the desk for help. My mom came back n told me they gave her a nasty dirty look. She didn't speak much English n was trying to get help for me. Moments later, a Phillippino nurse came in n brought me a glass of water. For such simple thing, the staffs don't even bother to have some compassion n attention. IF YOU ARE NOT A WHITE PERSON, BETTER DO GO THERE FOR SURGERY. IT'S A VERY COLD PLACE.
