This is how I see it from my experiences. Excellent care! Knowledgeable, skilled, compassionate staff. Current with the latest in medicine. Outstanding doctors and medical team! I appreciate the events, such as fundraisers for excellent causes, such as cancer research, and I appreciate the gift shop. The food is good. I especially liked the chicken and rice. This facility has a Dunkin Donuts in it. It's clean, quiet. The parking lots provide a free space to park your car. The rooms are very nice. When sick that requires a hospital visit, I appreciate Mid State!
Do NOT go to Midstate for emergency care. Their ER is a joke, most of the nurses are rude and doctors do not care at all. Definitely not a place for children to be seen, my son broke his arm and we waited 3 hours in the middle of the night just to get in a room, then another 2 hours for a doctor to see him. Drive to Yale or Hartford . It's worth it.
Worst hospital ever!! They did testing on me and said that was everything fine but it wasn't. I found out about my condition a year later when another doctor from there told me that they found my condition when they performed the first MRI and CT scan last year. Long periods of waiting. Staff don't know what they are doing, they give you attitude if you aks questions to them. Never again !!!
Sat in the emergency department for 2hrs before being seen say and waiting another hour just for discharge papers. RIDICULOUS!!!! MIDSTATE HAS TO DO BETTER
This is where people go to die! My 84 year old mom was brought into the ER, only to WAIT for SEVERAL HOURS IN PAIN while the staff talked about what they did over the weekend. When I complained, (along w/ other people there waiting), they told me to go back to my room & that's when I raised holy hell to get my mom the care she needed. She was misdiagnosed, given the wrong antibiotic, then sent home only to return 2 weeks later & was worse. We waited SEVERAL HOURS AGAIN before my mom was admitted this time after the nurses/doctors were rude & had no care or empathy whatsoever!!! My mom was VERY SICK & we didn't think she'd pull through. Dr Brown, (who should lose her license), was her doctor & so cold & took my mom off of all her medications that she was on for over 30-40 years from her pcp doctor. She had bed sores after only 3 days, was left in her own filth unless I got a nurse, wasn't given a bed pan unless you constantly complained, we had to make sure she got any care at all & the worst part is they moved my mom to another room saying she was better when SHE HAD NO IDEA WHO I WAS OR WAS BARELY CONSCIENCE! She was also getting blood drawn every 4 hours & her arms/hands looked like liver. I posted 4 photos on here, as I took pictures in the hospital. I don't know if you can view them or not but she looked like someone attacked her. This place should be shut down until everyone knows how to CARE for patients & not just want money!!! TERRIBLE!!!!
