This place is a nightmare. Might as well make a movie about it. Nightmare at midstate hospital. One of those places that is a damned if you do damned if you don't it's a trap, don't even bother going there if you are in need of serious help. I don't like to talk bad about places but this place is terrible. They need to get better management in each and every section in this hospital. Hire more workers that know what they are doing. It sucks to keep a fake smile about things you know are wrong. But to keep your sanity be smart and don't even bother going in the first place.

The nurses in this hospital that took care of me were top-notch, wonderful people. So were the nurse aides. I stayed June 30 on the 4th floor. Carolyn and Andrea took care of me overnight and Rita and Tammy during the day. These ladies were so amazing and lessened the depression I had for having to be in the hospital on vacation. I am a heart patient and the doctors in Connecticut took the time to consult my doctor in Indiana. They helped get me on my way with very specific follow up instructions. I entered through the emergency room and was seen almost immediately.

Had the worst billing issue of my adult life here. Absolutely miserable and stressful situation.

I went here for a travel consultation before a backpacking trip. I was billed for the visit and my insurance company insisted they would pay for it *but Midstate never billed them*.

I called Midstate and told them to call my insurance and explained my insurance wants to speak to them and handle this and that I should not have been billed. In fact, MMC broke procedures by billing me. MMC told me they have a policy where they don't call insurance companies. MMC claimed that by singing their electronic pad, I consented to being billed (spoiler alert: they were wrong!).

MMC sent me a late payment notice before my trip and days before I left, I was told over the phone by a MMC rep that everything was all set. I returned from my trip 9 weeks later to FOUR late notices (two new ones came in while I was gone).

Finally, after countless calls and hours of wasted time, MMC "admitted" the error.

Yet another doctor wrote a Physicians' Emergency Certificate when there was NO emergency. My PTSD worsened when the bullies in blue sent me to Mid State, so a doctor ( Anderson? ) wrote the P.E.C. without evaluation. If I hadn't been forced into the hospital, I wouldn't have been agitated. The bully said "I'm sending you to New Britain General Hospit because you'te agitated and paranoi" despite that medicinal cannabis still prevents paranoia because it's still relaxing. ( DUH! )
Medical necessity isn't "abuse" and the 1930's are over. Repeating a lie won't make it true. The fact remains that medicinal cannabis saves lives and prevents paranoia because it's relaxing. To this day, a prehistoric medicinal herb remains safer and more effective than any other medicine. Its users are motivated, not "lazy and apathetic", the first medicine doesn't "impair concentration" or "cause psychosis", nobody will persuade or coerce a prehistoric medicinal herb to suddenly "cause paranoia" or be "linked to schizophrenia", and there's no "conspiracy against white people"; life is too short to be a hatemonger. Jazz musicians and Mexicans didn't "go insane on marijuana that makes them think they're as good as white men", the first medicine works wonders for mental health; unlike falsely advertised pharmaceuticals. The pushers are afraid of losing customers, so they rely on classism and racism. The phony "drug war" targets people instead of drugs. Medical necessity isn't only for adults, I survived my youth because of medicinal cannabis. All use is medicinal, not "abuse", and the youth are being coerced to get addicted to contaminated street drugs. If herb were only available to adults, another generation would be ruined. Pharmaceutical methamphetamines are prescribed to children.
Years after relegalization of medicinal herb in Connecticut in 2012, there's still a lot of irrational psychiatrists who denigrate medical necessity and pretend all users require a license and prescription. That's not free, and insurance doesn't cover the safest and most effective medicine. Moreover, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder is usually misdiagnosed as either "bipolar disorder" and / or "schizo" this or that. Everybody subjected to forced psychiatry has been traumatized. The pushers won't lose a customer, they forcibly commit their targets over withdrawal symptoms. If the pharmaceuticals were tapered, recovery would begin. Medicinal herb is paving the way for relegalizing psychedelic therapy, there won't be "freak outs" in a therapeutic setting, the pharmaceutical industry will lose more customers, and the pushers are afraid; hence now they know what it's like.
The alleged "advocates" refuse to reply.
Years later, I still have survivors' guilt and no closure.
