I am writing this email with such disappointment and disgust. I was diagnosed with gallstones around my 7th month of pregnancy. I get episodes at least once a week. On Wednesday the 13th of June I was at a friend's gathering in Aspen Hill when I started to feel the pains. He rushed me to the hospital. He told me that this hospital will assist me much faster then Holy Cross. We go into the emergency room and as soon as I get to the register window, the staff member looked annoyed that someone interrupted her late dinner. She was eating right in front of her desk! Totally unprofessional and disgusting. Her hands were greasy and she didn't bother getting up and putting her food away, let alone clean her hands! She asked for my ID and insurance card with an attitude! My friend wanted to sit down next to me and she told him to get up, that he couldn't sit there. Completely uncalled for because NO ONE was out there! It was completely empty! Once she registered me in, i was waiting with agony in the lobby for several minutes and my friend ask the same individual when they would take me back, she responded with such a nasty attitude. Finally the nurse that is suppose to check my vitals, came out, walking slow and started chatting with the other lady. She took her precious time. She finally calls my name and it looked like she was also eating because she was chewing on something when I got to her. This lady was also unprofessional and incompetent. Asking me unnecessary questions. Her job was not being done and she told me to calm down because I told her why she was asking me such an irrelevant question. I was in so much pain I couldn't breath. I stayed composed the whole time. I told my friend to leave because I felt bad that he was experience such horrible service with me when he can be home hosting his event. Once she was done, I went back to sit down in the lobby and waited for what seemed like FOREVER! Both ladies and the security guard were in the lobby on the security computer gossiping and chatting underneath their breath as if I wasn't crying in pain. I was brave enough to get out, and drive MYSELF to Alexandria Hospital in Virginia. I am originally from Alexandria. I always receive exceptional service in Alexandria & Fairfax, nothing less the great service! I came here to find out the one of the stones had pass through and caused obstruction and I caught a serious infection. Can I just tell you that Alexandria was packed with people in the ER and I was already put in a room and given medications in less then 10 minutes! Montgomery had me out there waiting for over 20 minutes and it was completely empty! Even the parking lot was dead. I hope that this email gets to the right person! No one should ever have to experience such poor behavior and disrespect. I would kindly appreciate a rapid response being as though this was a life threatening experience for me. It wasn't easy driving 40 min to get decent service. I shouldn't have to drive myself 40 minutes out to get care. No one should. This hospital needs a new hiring staff, needs competent friendly ready to assist people. That is why they were hired in the first place. I will be writing a review on google and I will make sure this gets to the right persons if it hasn't.
