They are knowledgeable, professional and with solid sense of humor. Not one, but nearly all that I came into contact with- 9 or 10. Considering it was football Sunday, they got me out of there very quickly and efficiently. I had x rays/ultra sound- both were highly trained and positive experience for hospital. I recommend this hospital - if you absolutely must go.
A few weeks ago my mom went to your hospital for an aortic dissection and for the most part her stay was very nice except for the last few days she was there because for some reason some of the nurses kept her awake at night with their loud talking right outside her room. I always thought hospitals were supposed to be quiet at night for the patients there and I'd give more stars cause some of the nurses were very nice but I just think that's very inconsiderate to be that loud when your patients are trying to sleep because a hospital is supposed to be a place of rest and healing is it not?
My mother in law went in and her nurse was wonderful, but as ER's go, it was a long wait while there. We got there around 11am and did not leave until after 4.30pm. We did not want to leave the hospital so we decided to eat at their so called cafeteria. We got there about 1:50 pm. While in line, only one person ahead of us (she worked for the hospital), she loaded up her plate with mashed potatoes to the point, she emptied the pan, she even scraped the spoon to get every last drop. The person behind the counter took the pan and I asked for some potatoes, she said no more we are closing until 4.15. Our ordeal for the day started at 9am and we had not eaten, we had to leave the hospital to find something to eat. Evidently, the hospital has nothing open on Sundays. So don't get sick on Sundays I suppose. She was kept the first day and the second day as well and when we were on our way to pick her up we could not go to her room to help her, she had to wait in a discharge lounge! Not really impressed, hope I don't have to go there.
I wouldn't recommend this hospital to ANYONE. Never coming back. The nurses were beyond rude to my mother. My mother had a seizure and they sent her home without doing ANY tests! Now my family and I have to watch her all night to make sure it doesn't happen again because they didn't do their job and figure out ANYTHING! They just got her high as hell and sent her home. I am disgusted with these nurses. I want answers, I need to know why they sent her home without doing a single test after we watched her have a seizure!!
Update: 9 Nov. 2018. I was here overnight for a prep with a colonoscopy this morning. I wanted to commend Jamichael, who was my tech in the Endo/colon procedure section of the hospital. He had the perfect personality to deal with people. While waiting, he asked me numerous times if I was okay or needed anything. Even just passing by, he would smile or wave to me. A great employee to deal with and relax patients. I give him a 5 🌟🌟🌟🌟 🌟 review! Actually everyone in that section of the hospital were very helpful and calming.
Now, the rest of the visit I'd give 3 🌟🌟🌟. Waited forever to get discharge orders. Although when you check in they want your meds list, if a doctor doesn't order them, you are out of luck. I had to do without some rather important meds! Was not very happy about that!
10 July 2018: My most recent visit was July 10 for a knee replacement. I stayed in the Doyle Tower room 410 which is like a classy hotel instead of a hospital! Large private room, huge glass windows, wide hallways... very nice!
Yes, you do have the usual wakeups at night for vitals but other than that, it was very quiet for sleep. They even supply ear buds, an eye shield, ear plugs. It makes you feel like they honestly care about your comfort.
Everyone I had contact with before and during my visit were pleasant and friendly. I wish I had written down all the names of the great nurses and techs I had. But I'm sure you may be able to figure them out. One favorite tech was Chris, he was such a kind and caring person.
Everyone who helped me in physical therapy were great. Even the food was good. I loved the chicken quesadilla for lunch, sweet strawberries, grapes, egg whites for breakfast.
If there was anything that bothered me, it was the new drug law that went into effect July 1. That had nothing to do with the hospital but our state. But Dr. Herrama was able to adjust my meds to control my pain.
I have spent many visits to Morton Plant and consider this the best hospital in the area! Thank you for the excellent care.
