feedback about Moses Taylor Hospital
I had two surgeries and one trip to ER here in the last two years for myself and I have not had a bad experience yet. I like how everyone who is in the OR room during your procedures introduces themselves one at a time and tells you what their job is. It took some stress off the situation. I recently brought my husband to the ER and the doctor that saw him was amazing. We went in because he got a piece of food stuck in a stricture in his esophagus. He was able to get it to pass before we saw the doctor but after doing routine blood work the doc knew something wasn’t right and immediately admitted him and called in specialists. Turns out he has a rare incurable blood cancer. He could have had a stroke or heart attack at any moment with the condition he has. We were able to get treatment started immediately. My family will continue to use this facility
I had my c section back in 2013. I must say I am now 7 months pregnant and every gyn says they did a horrible job with the scar. The experience I had in this hospital was catastrophic. They never told me what was going on with my baby they just rushed me to the operating room. They even strapped me down and had to sleep me through the whole surgery . Inalso heard people in the room laughing as soon as I was rushed in the room. The cut was unprofessionally done. After that only one nurse was very supportive and nice. The other ones where not nice at all. Now I have a horrible amateur made scar from a c section probably done by amateurs for ever.
My rating has nothing to do with the care received there--that's always been fine. my complaint, however, is in regards to billing. My daughter fell on Nov 9th of last yr, requiring 7 stitches above her eyebrow. Moses put them in and worked with a plastic surgeon who did a beautiful job. A week later, we went back to MTH to have the stitches removed, as we were advised to do by her pediatrician. because the stitches were in her face, we had to take her back to the ER to have them removed. Fast forward a few weeks and i received two separate bills for the procedures, trying to charge 2 co-pays for what is essentially the same service. Insurance keeps trying to reach them--it's constant excuses as to why it was done that way--coded wrong, she had the option to go to her doc but went there instead (not true), my co-pay is actually $100 and not the $50 my card shows, split among 2 services (not legal), etc. Moses refuses to provide an answer and now the bills are about to go to collections. Cannot get anywhere or an answer as to why I continue to receive 2 separate bills.
The ER crew was nice and responsive...Now when i was brought upstairs i was told i would be kept comfortable and taken care of...yea ok...no complaints about the day crew but the night crew is sloppy and rude...they changed my meds from every 2hrs to 6hrs which left me in pain for most of the day...they really didnt tell me much about what was going on...i waited 1hr and 22mins for a nurse to respond. When i asked why it took so long she said it was because of the shift change which was a lie because they changed at 7pm and i pushed the call button at 7:32pm...nurse came at 8:54pm(yes i watched the time).theres more to say but i think thats enough. Plz remeber this all based on my opinion and my experience
Being an hour and a half from my home I was sceptical about choosing Moses to have my Baby. I had a history of preterm labor and knew they had a Nicu, so this was my deciding factor. I am so glad I made the decision. I had gone in for my second steroid injection and let them know my babies movement had decreased. They ordered an ultrasound and babies heartrate dropped they decided to keep me for the day and monitor me. Babies heartrate dropped again, so decision was made to deliver baby that night via c-section. All the nurses I dealt with and the ultrasound tech were very nice. It did not stop there. My anesthesiologists were the best I have ever had (I have had 7 surgeries prior) The doctor that performed the section Dr. Burns was Great. Not one nurse that i had for the next 3 days were not super nice and professional. The lactation consultant was also great. I dealt with 2 people about the Ronald McDonald house, as my baby had to stay in the Nicu, and they were both nice. My baby stayed in the Nicu for a week and again Not an ill word to say about any of the staff there either. All were friendly and professional So glad I chose this hospital to have my baby 😁👶💗
