Im not normally a review writer but my recent experience has given me the urge to make note here about the exceptional treatment I received at UVA PW Medical. The facility was clean, well staffed, well run, and the team there was caring. From the moment I stepped in until the time I left (four days later) I never felt neglected, overlooked, disrespected, unheard. The staff I met was genuine and fulfilled their duty to provide excellent care.

Worst hospital I've ever been to. I arrived at 11:00am waited until 11:40 to be taken back, where they did height, weight blood pressure and prescriptions, then sent me to another waiting room, where I waited for another hour. At 1:00 I finally got to my room, however it was another .5 hr before the doctor came in. I discussed my needs with the doctor, little Asian girl, she wanted to try her own treatment instead of what had worked for me 3 nights before in Cornwall Hospital. Her method, didn't work (of course) but they know better . I asked for my medicine again, plus the dose that works, she gave me a half dose, which didn't work. I then explained once more what works, and again half does. It's now 2:00 and I've gotten no help! I believe the nurses lunches are more important than the patients. I was then told, we can't help you because they don't have enough medicine and have to keep some on hand, really!!!! When I went to Cornwall 4 nights prior, I arrived at 12:30pm, was taken straight back, IV in within 5 minutes and given the right dose of medicine and was out of there by 2:30. You are better off driving to Cornwall Hospital, you will be seen much faster and get better treatment!!

Over the past four years, I have taken my elderly mother, now 86 years old, to this department for triage and treatment. On every single visit, she has been treated with dignity, respect, and patience. I have nothing but good things to say about the medical and support staff both morning, day, and night shifts; and that's saying something over four years of care. I would trust her with them every time!

Was just treated in the ER. Came in due to difficulty breathing, was diagnosed with pneumonia 2 weeks ago and thought it had gotten worse. The staff was very quick and attentive, my only negative comment was the rude respiratory doctor (or nurse with a lab coat not sure). I’m a former ARMY medic so I know how to attempt to control my breathing but couldn’t, hence why I was there. My nurse was amazing, unfortunately can’t remember her name, my doctor I believe was Ahvery (I believe that’s how it’s spelled, too medicated to check right now). Turns out the pneumonia was gone but had other issues which the doctor discovered and made sure I understood the treatment plan. Now, I have had instances where I had terrible treatment here, but since UVA came in it seems to have improved dramatically. Kudos to the staff tonight and Dr. Ahvery (spl.?) and thank you for your prompt attention so I could breath again!!

If you're having a baby i really recommend going to Prince William hospital because they treated my wife like a queen the entire time and made sure she could breastfeed and pump before she left like they don't even make formula an option or even bring it up once you tell them your goal is to breastfeed. My first kids were born in holy cross hospital in md and George Washington university hospital in dc respectively and when i tell you they are both 2 star hospitals compared to a 5 star Prince William when it comes to birthing I'm not even exaggerating. My experience helping birth my 3rd child was tons better than the 1st 2 thanks to Prince William
