Everyone was nice except preoperative RN, no greetings, first thing came out of her mouth was, "Do you speak English?" in a rude tone. Nurse technician Brian was hilarious. By the way, the after hour on call number was given was not of a doctor, you would expect there wouldl be a doctor there when you go through sufferings after surgery. It is really sad, may be trying to save money they let patients suffer, I wish they cared for patients more.
Today, had a pleasant experience, not withstanding a surgery, with my stay at this
hospital. I am pleased I had my surgery here, rather than the big hospitals in town.
The atmosphere was one of caring, and the whole procedure from checking in to
being discharged was very smooth, almost like being in a 5-star Hotel.
Thank you Oklahoma Surgical Hospital.
If I could leave negative stars I would! This place is terrible. My grandma had back surgery a week ago. They had to go in and fix what the doctors messes up TWICE totaling 3 surgeries in a week. She had a terrible reaction to the anaesthesia and vomited profusely. She had one nurse tell her she was never going to get better if she didn't get her butt out of bed and walk. (The doctor had told her not to because of the problems going on with her back.) They finally fixed the issue and she's done pretty good until last night. She started throwing up again. Her nurse told her "I don't have time to sit and help you I have other patients I don't know what to tell you". If this is your idea of patient care you are in the wrong line of work. I wouldn't take my dog here.
I've been here for 4 days with mom. We live 2 hours away and didn't know how long we would be here because it was an emergency and we couldn't pack enough.
Day 2, I asked at least a dozen times for them to bring her underwear and socks in a timespan of 13 hours. They kept saying they'd tell her nurse, nurse's aid, etc. Never got them. I finally just bought some and washed them.
They moved her to a different room without having a bed so she had to sit in a wheelchair (while unable to breathe or move herself), then it took 2 days for them to figure out that her nurse-call buttons didnt work. The respiratory tech came in and asked where her oxygen stuff was. They left it in her first room!
To make it worse, she began have heart attack symptoms and no one noticed the monitors- because her heart monitor wasnt even working!
Sure, some of the nurses are fantasticfantastic- truly incredible care. But unless you have the power to selectively choose who provides your care 24/7 while in this hospital, maybe you should try another place.
I had complete hip replacement of my left hip at the Oklahoma Surgical Hospital.. From the time we pulled in for the free valet service until we left two days later this is the very best medical service we have ever received. Everyone seemed to enjoy their job and were good at it. Most had been there for many years. The food was good and was always served timely. The nurses and technicians always did a great job with us and were always timely in making contact with us. We have nothing negative to say about our experience there. We would highly recommend this hospital to anyone who is going to have orthopedic surgery.
