Even though there is alot of construction going on, there is still enough parking in my opinion. If you do have to park in the boonies, the shuttle bus is good about coming out and retrieving you. The places I went in the hospital were well kept. I have never had a long wait for audiology. The gals up there are all polite, professional, and courteous. They know their stuff. I feel very well cared for and am very thankful for my benefits.

Without fail, some old veteran will talk to you about raising children with the girl at your side. He'll ask you, "What are you waiting for?" "Careers," you respond. "Well, you better make some kids to impress your grandparents." "Thinking about it." Another female walks up and the old veteran will pipe up, "Are you married?" The attention loop starts again. Most of these old boys are just looking for someone to talk to.

I have used other VA facilities but the Omaha VA Medical Center has been the best. The medical staff, such as nurses, doctors, and radiologist have been friendly and professional. I have no problems getting appointments when needed and I get the care I need when I need it.

Great care here. Most of the staff really care about the patients.

I recently moved back to Nebraska after leaving the state 3 years ago. I'm a 100% disabled combat wounded veteran and so one of the first things I go to do is change from my last VA to start being seen at my new VA. On February 22 I call them up and give them my new address and tell them I'd like to set up an initial appointment. They say ok, write down my new information and tell me that they have 7 business days to contact me. Crickets. I then call up again a week and a half into March to see what the hold up is. They say they couldn't contact me and they sent a letter to my old state. I'm fairly frustrated at this point and I contact the patient advocate. They assure me that this will all be worked out and send me back to the appointment people. They take my information again, assure me that they have it correct and state that only one person (How is that reasonable?) can set up initial appointments. I am assured that I will be contacted once again within 7 initial days with my appointment...Crickets. Today I finally get through to the supervisor of the patient advocates and she is very professional and bends over backwards to help me. I finally have an initial appointment for April 17. That would be 56 days after I initially called. To top it off I'm scrolling through these 5 star reviews and I recognize the name of a VA employee!!! Complete shenanigans! The VA has failed me repeatedly and continues to do so. If they put half the effort into veterans that they put into covering things up and quit pretending that a large amount of their staff couldn't care less about serving veterans then we'd all be better off.
