Wow! God is good.
Today my wife had her gal bladder removed in the surgery center at Phoebe Sumter. We arrived prior to the scheduled appointment to to check in. From the beautiful grounds and elegant styled entrance to the amazing staff. We were treated like special VIP guest at a resort. The registration process was simplified by an angel named Laura Cheek. Laura our nurse , made our visit comfortable and relaxed. She was calm and informative, she was gentle and sympathetic. As was the rest of the surgery team and nursing staff. From the time my wife went back to surgery, I recieved a call that she was going under , then another call that surgery went well and she was in recovery. Dr. Douglas Joyner informed me how the surgery went and how to care for my wife. LAURA CHEEK, made every effort to make sure we were comfortable and informed as well.
Millions of Thanks to the staff at Phoebe Sumter! God is good, ALL THE TIME!
Mixed feelings. Nurse staff and everyone like that are very helpful and kind, but the doctors are just useless. Unhelpful, long wait, and poor bedside manner. Thankful to the nurses for their kind words and explanations because the doctor gave us nothing.
Longest wait with rude staff. Hardly checked on and when I was it wasn’t hardly anything that pertained to me. Waited 4 hours to get back and then another 2 and a half hours to maybe have them do a 45 minutes worth of work. Nothing for the pain and they have asked me 4 times what is my pain level and nothing.
I love the labor and delivery staff so nice and sweet. And made sure I was good at all times.
I don’t even want to leave the one star I have to leave to write this review. The doctor did not even introduce himself nor tell us who he was or what he was doing in the room. He was short, rude and arrogant. He could not find what was causing my pain after little testing, so he just prescribed me a narcotic and tried to discharge me 2 min ATFER the nurse had taken blood. She had logged back into the computer to make sure she was not missing anything and realized he had cancelled all the labs. He had no intention of even explaining the reasoning behind the narcotics or had intentions of coming back to the room. I asked for him to come back and have more tests ran. Long story short, these “physicians” do not care about the underlining problem. They want you in and out and that is why America has an “opioid problem.” I would not bring my dog to this place.
