Very frustrated. After being told we didn't need an appointment for ordered routine labs, we arrived at 2:30pm. Have been waiting over 2 hours in the lobby waiting area for routine lab work to be drawn. Checked with registration after 1st 30 minutes of waiting as waiting room sign instructed. Was told we weren't sitting "far enough down". WHAT?? Why weren't we told to sit closer to lab door? An hour and half later it's just the two of us and STILL no one one's called us back.
Wow! God is good.
Today my wife had her gal bladder removed in the surgery center at Phoebe Sumter. We arrived prior to the scheduled appointment to to check in. From the beautiful grounds and elegant styled entrance to the amazing staff. We were treated like special VIP guest at a resort. The registration process was simplified by an angel named Laura Cheek. Laura our nurse , made our visit comfortable and relaxed. She was calm and informative, she was gentle and sympathetic. As was the rest of the surgery team and nursing staff. From the time my wife went back to surgery, I recieved a call that she was going under , then another call that surgery went well and she was in recovery. Dr. Douglas Joyner informed me how the surgery went and how to care for my wife. LAURA CHEEK, made every effort to make sure we were comfortable and informed as well.
Millions of Thanks to the staff at Phoebe Sumter! God is good, ALL THE TIME!
I was admitted last week and had the greatest nurses and doctors. The RT, CNA’s, and RN’s go out of their way to take care of you and your needs. However, I took a trip to the ER tonight and was seen in the clinic by a patronizing NP that told me there was nothing wrong and continuously asked “what I was worried about”. I was less than thrilled with the condescending tone and lack of concern displayed by the NP.
My husband went to the ER on Friday...the nurses were awful. They all seem to be confused and unsure of how to treat his symptoms. The nurses bed side manner is atrocious. He came in for shortness of breath, they did a chest xray but never gave him the results. They diagnosed him with allerigies and bronchitis, but only gave him Allegra and nasal spray, nothing to treat the bronchitis. 32 hours later we end up back at the ER (Wellstar Kennestone) where we live...and they diagnosis him an ulcer. I will never take him to Phoebe Sumter again!!!
Mixed feelings. Nurse staff and everyone like that are very helpful and kind, but the doctors are just useless. Unhelpful, long wait, and poor bedside manner. Thankful to the nurses for their kind words and explanations because the doctor gave us nothing.
