My recent experience was to care for my 79-year-old dad.
I could not believe how some of the physicians that I had to deal with during his stay, had no empathy for me and my dad.
The doctors kept making comments about how he is not going to survive and we should consider him taking to a nursing home. How I should consider DNR when he was clearly responsive and walking around.
I must say the nursing staff was incredible but some of the Dr. were not on our side. I had to constantly challenge them and ask them the basis of their opinion which caused them frustration. I have some background in medicine myself and would question them. I was constantly present 2-3 times a day to make sure my dad was not misdiagnosed or mistreated by some of these animals. Due to the language barrier, his records were updated that he is refusing treatment when only he just wanted to remain in bed and not disturbed.
All of the readers should take caution taking your elderly parent there. 0 compassion, zero!. Finally, I had my dad accepted to an acute rehab and came home. If it was on them he would have been dead by now. Hoping that I never have to deal with them again.

Spent over night there after a medical emergency. They were quick to get me in my room. A private room. Quickly got me squared away with a treatment plan. Medical tests started right away and I was discharged after all tests came back negative by the end of the afternoon. All the Doctors, nurses and technicians were friendly and respectful.
The hospital is clean and the food and service is good.

Same with others, if I can only give negative stars I would have. Isn't the 1st time in the ER and them people are so slow. Always tell us, we are busy and packed. But really it isn't what it looks like. York hospital have tons of patients in the ER and we didn't have to wait for hours to be checked. I'd rather drive to Wentworth Douglass or York Hospital. I ain't taking my chances next time.

Absolutely terrible. Called them to make sure they took my insurance and they didn’t want to double check because they take “all insurance” and next thing I know I’m hit with a $710 bill. I called their customer service and immediately got an attitude from Veronica I think her name was. Very rude, would not recommend dealing with this hospital. Also besides that I was diagnosed with something I didn’t even have and they wrote me a prescription before even getting my lab results back just to get me out of there!

I've been trying for 30 minutes to call this hospital to get a price for a procedure code because I am shopping around and will pay out of pocket. 1 code, one price. I've been put through 15-20 operators during three looong calls as they hung up on me or lost the connection. They say I'll put you through, and it's always some other operator in some other state, all kids who are probably making minimum wage. For the final go-to answer person, I got no human, I got "leave a message." HCA sucks, these criminals who create these horrendous grinding machines for profiting off of suffering should be put in the public square in stocks.

Just a back story as I read through the negative reviews here: I recall back in the day a friend's Dad was in for hernia surgery here, so he could lift his grand kids. They gave him Heparin, to which he was allergic and began to clot, then more Heparin not catching the problem, and in the end they rushed him to Boston where he lost BOTH of his legs. BOTH.

Your experience is bound to be better, buy why enable this HCA hell?
