I did not know what to expect going to Ascension Providence for a minor, yet surgical procedure. I was pleasantly surprised with every part of my experience on the surgical floor. The hospital lobby posted a clear mission statement highlighted by core values demonstrated in portraits of famous historical figures exemplifying those attributes. It made it clear they had spent time instilling those values as part of their corporate teachings.

Once I entered the surgical floor, there were clear processes in place for each task I would encounter. Each process was clearly designed to protect my privacy and safety. I felt they had addressed so many details proactively and had been so well-trained, it gave me confidence that I needed to feel that I was in good hands.

The nursing care was compassionate and efficient. The staff were clearly well-trained, process driven, and patient-focused. I was able to select my surgeon so he met my expectation of care; however, I found the anesthesiologist and nurse anesthetist, both of whom I did not select, to be responsive and concerned about my questions and care as well.

I am currently home recuperating and can honestly say I am pleased with my choice to go with Ascension Providence. People and clearly designed process truly made it a positive experience.

Providence Southfield is a good hospital! I was admitted there for four days, and they took great care of me. I had four family members who were very critical, and stayed there for months. Praise the Lord they are still living, because the will of God, and the good Doctors, and nurses they have!

If I could give a 0 rating I would. The quality of care at Ascension Providence in Southfield Michigan is unacceptable and the reputation of Providence has diminished greatly. After the initial introduction to the doctor I never saw him again. A medical school employee took my mom’s history without any oversight. I have no confidence in the staff to leave my 89 year old mother in this hospital’s care. She came in not able to breathe and no oxygen was given. A respiratory therapist put a mask on her face for a breathing treatment taking away what oxygen she was able to breath in. I removed it to help
my mom breath because the therapist was no where around. A nurse, I think since no one introduced themselves, stuck their head in the curtain to say my mom was being admitted. It’s been 4 hours and we’re still waiting. I will be contacting the local media. I hate to think the level of care and weak professionalism is because of the African American demographic. The lack of communication is unbelievable. I have no confidence in the staff’s attentiveness. My mom’s IV beeped and beeped no one came in. I had to find a nurse who was at the desk to tell her the IV machine was beeping. I’m done. I’m moving my mom’s patient care to Beaumont or the white suburbs for the care she should receive. I should not have to hear an administrator speaking loudly and unprofessionally at 2:00am talking about moving patients out of ER rooms who are waiting to be admitted because the waiting room is full.

This is to the owner and management. I came in with chest pains last night and was in the waiting room with patients who was vomiting crying and the receptionist was so rude to them she kept walking in the back for food because some one had a party or was leaving the job. Needless to say .I came in at 11:30 receptionist didn't call me to the desk til 12:00am I was in so much pain I had to go to another hospital. Your team is sad they didn't care they was talking about people they said it wasn't beds available and they didn't check on me . Sad very sad. I will be contacting board members and BBB

My mother was discharged today, June 17, 2019 at approximately 4:30 from room 3126. When she was brought down she had no wig on, was in a sweatsuit with NOTHING on underneath no bra, which was there in the room I packed it myself, and NO pull-up/diaper, just NUDE!! Which on the way home she proceeded to pee in the front seat of my car.. They KNOW she's incontinent, why would they send her home with nothing on? BECAUSE THEY ARE A BUNCH OF LAZY, UNPROFESSIONAL WORKERS, THAT'S WHY! I'm definitely going to take this to the next level, so they'll know they can't EVER do this again!!! I was repulsed!!!!
