Went to the 7th floor. The heart doctor I saw was very nice. An older man, so I assume he had experience. He brought in 2 student like people who I assume he was training. I like that, anytime you can teach someone, do it. They looked over my blood work and asked a lot of detailed questions, really want to know what's wrong with me and trying to figure it out.
This is a great hospital. I trust the staff here. I've had multiple surgeries here. There is a gift shop here so that you can get your loved one something that you think they'll love. The food is good here. I used to hear people talk about hospital food and how horrible it is, Not here. It's actually good. Every night they say a prayer over the intercom. No matter what your religion is, a prayer is very comforting, especially if you've had a rough day.
Things have really changed at this hospital … so much so that I won’t be back. Years ago I broke my foot and went to the hospital and had the best care ever. Earlier this year when I went to the hospital, I pulled up at emergency thinking that an attendant would park my car ... NOPE ... a guard told me that I had to park in the parking lock which seemed far away. I told the guard that I really wasn’t feeling well...so he agreed to watch to see that I made it back. The good news is that I did make it back to the emergency door. The receptionist took my name and told me to have a seat. I waited well over 1-1/5 hours before anyone even spoke to me. Needless to say, I WON’T go back to Providence. This is not the hospital that they once use to be ... it is more like an overrun clinic. They do not offer the type of care you want when you have an emergency!
Dr. Michael Lee and his professional staff were amazing. The nurses were outstanding and very caring. They saved my father's life with an emergency heart bypass surgery after being transferred from Novi. Uoon arrival, Tony the PA, stayed to await my father after hours and Jeff, the nurse anesthetist, were incredible! They explained everything and had incredible follow up. I would not go any where else! Thank you Providence Hospitaland staff for everything!
I took my mother here 09/02/2018 and I will never ever, ever bring her, myself or anyone I know here again for that matter.
Where do I start?
1. The ER staff were very unhelpful in every way possible. We waited 6 hours before my elderly mother got a room, no to mention the rude ER nurse Muhammad.
2. We finally get the room and the bathroom is filthy, urine on the toilet and floor, so I ask the rude assistant if it could be cleaned and she said with an attitude she would call somebody.
3. My mom's food comes and they just drop it off on a tray which is 5 feet from my mom's bed and leave.
This is the absolute worst hospital I have ever dealt with and I would advise any and everyone not to come to Providence Hospital in Southfield.
