8 hours and $80 wasted, I felt worse after I left the Emergency Room than I did when I arrived. I was nauseous, vomiting, and in excruciating pain. I waited almost two hours before I was taken back to a room. The nurses were practically clueless. Why would anyone place an IV needle on the inside of your elbow AND expect the patient to remain perfectly still?!? My arm is still black and blue. I did not see a doctor. I was seen by a PA and, aside from giving me something nasty to drink, refused to address the reason I was there.....pain, vomiting, etc. I was informed by an RN, who does not work at this hospital, that you get better service at an Urgent Care facility. The visit costs less than my hospital E.R. co-pay. I am thoroughly disappointed and perplexed with the sub-par treatment I received at this facility.
Another incident...I called regarding a bill and left several messages. Brenda called once or twice when I was away from home. When I finally got her on the phone, Brenda snapped at me in a loud voice ""I have NEVER talked to you."' Where did that reaction come from? Needless to say, the conversation went farther downhill from that point. I called to report all of these issues, but not a single person has ever called me back.
I’ve been here many times. Unfortunately for me the alternatives are pretty far away especially when in necessity of ER ,in the night and/or with my little son . I can’t tell you if other hospitals are the same but surely i can tell you about this one. Pray .. just pray that you don’t need to come here for emergencies. For my personal experience this hospital is a joke . Nothing else than a greedy money taker. I mean , besides the fact that everyone works to earn money I think there’s always way and way to do your job . And this hospital is such a lack of everything that honestly i find hard to be able to describe in details. Well, first of all , if you have insurance you can be sure that they will admit you even if there’s not the necessity. They will keep you there days and days with 3/4 nurses a day that will ask you the same questions and why you’re there and that the doctor will come soon. Doctor that unfortunately get to rolling along with other doctors so that you will need to explain everything again and again without in the while getting nothing or little care. If you don’t have insurance just forget about what i wrote before. They will send you home as fast as possible, the only concern they will have is to obtain more info and data possible to send you the astronomical bill that you will have to pay or to call you or let some debt collector harassing you for the rest of your life . Yes because for my experience, with or without insurance they will follow you as they never did when you was sick . And if you don’t have insurance but you’re willing to pay well, be advised that they wanna tell you how much to pay monthly disregarding your possibilities or your status. This is about the hospital, where the only positive thing is that you have an external doctor or specialist that will issue what you need . If this is not the case just remember what i told you . Pretty same if not even worse the ER . Hours and hours of waiting, unreal if you think that I went with my 5 years old sick and with 105 fever and they let us in the waiting room from 10.30 pm until 3.00 am . A shame , for a child to be arranged in their chair , waiting 4-5-6 hours without any care. And I wanna be clear, I don’t expect to go ahead no one . I just wondering how is possible to let people sitting or laying around for hours . How is possible for an hospital to give such poor service. Yesterday night for example, I went there for my child . Coughing again fever at 104 and God knows what else . Well, while waiting one guy was suffering so bad that he laid in the floor due the pain. I needed to go to the acceptance desk 2 times to tell them that a man was rollover in the floor for the pain before that anyone did anything. I don’t know what is the problem. If you cannot handle the ER in a decent way hire more people. If you don’t have the money to hire more employees try to figure out something different. If you cannot figure out something different then close the hospital because this is outrageous. Especially when in the rare case you get inside the ER after exhausting hours of waiting, you enter and what you see is hal employees talking, half sit at the computer, and most of them chatting and laugh. I’m just so disappointed, I think that for the money insurance take from our and yours paycheck and the bills they send you the service should be lightning and efficient to the top.
This hospital is a shame , no one should be submitted to their inefficiency and unprofessional lack .

I took my aunt to the ER yesterday because she had been in excruciating pain, vomitted over 10x during the night, and the GI specialist isn’t available to see her until mid February. While at the ER we’ve had the worst experience. The physician name, Amber was rude when we had questions regarding to the referral, and further treatments because my aunt has had this same sickness since July. My aunt was told by Amber that there was not anything that they could do for her even if she was admitted because she doesn’t think my aunt’s condition is threatening. Mind you, this was our 2nd time here and they still couldn’t find out what was wrong with her. We’ve asked several times if they could try to contact the specialist to see if they can get her in sooner, and Amber just stormed out like a child, and sent someone else to come to speak to us. On top of everything else my aunt was poked with the needle 7 different times because they were having a difficult time finding her veins. RN Jasmine, was giving my aunt some medication through my aunt’s IV without the IV bag, (it felt like she was trying to rush her job) when my aunt told her that she felt the burning sensation and that the pain felt worst than the “7 times” that they poked her, Jasmine told us that it was normal. After my aunt kept complaining about the pain that’s when Jasmine finally gave the medication through the IV bag, and she didn’t even apologize. In the end, we left the hospital helplessly, still in a lot of pain, on top with both of her arms, and her left hand with terrible bruises. We basically wasted our time, money, and energy without helping my aunt’s condition. Save your time and money and drive to Greensboro, or Winston instead.
This hospital sucks. I took my mother to Randolph Hospital. They told me she was dehydrated and would be better after she got fluids. They gave her the fluids and sent her home and she died that night. Someone was not doing their job. I do not trust them.
