I would give 0 stars if I could. Was there twice this year for diverticulitis. Triage nurse was wonderful but that is where the niceness ends My nurse was very rude and treated me like I was a bother. I never saw a doctor, only a physician assistant named Gavin who was arrogant and treated me like a drug seeker! He asked me if the morphine helped the pain and when I said no, he laughed and said that is too bad. I was discharged even though I requested to see a physician and never did. Gavin was rude and uncaring. An elderly man next door came in via ambulance and when Gavin heard his story he said "I dont know what you want us to do for you. You didn't need to call an ambulance!" Gavin needs to be fired as I have read many negative reviews about him on here. He made me feel terrible for even going to ER. I do not have nor have I EVER had a prescription for opiates. I never asked for pain medicine but was offered it and as I was in so much pain I agreed to it. The opioid epidemic has all doctors looking at every patient as an addict! I was never treated so rudely and poorly in my life. I sat on a bed in ER for 5 hrs with no pain relief, no nausea relief, full of anxiety, and unable to rest. In 5 hrs I saw my nurse twice. Now I need surgery and I am afraid to have it at Regional due to the poor patient care I received. Probably will go to CMC

Went here in September. My employer has a contract with Performance Health, a company that covers emergency room copays at Commonwealth Health hospitals (Regional and Moses Taylor). The Performance Health Card was provided at the time of service, but the incompetent staff at the hospital ignored it and submitted a regular claim to my insurance.

I later get a bill for my copay in the mail. I contact the number on the bill, where I am placed on hold for 10 minutes only to be hung up on. I call again with same results. 30 minutes later, I finally speak with someone who tells me I need to take care of the issue at the hospital. I subsequently went to the hospital and was told that they did not have this Performance Health Card on file. Big surprise! They took my card and rescanned it and told me not to worry about the bill.

A month later, I get another bill. I first call the number on my Performance Health Card and am told by the rep that they never received a claim from the hospital to cover the copay. The rep told me to call the hospital and give them the address for Performance Health to submit the bill to them.

I called the hospital only to be told they can't help. I was given the number for Commonwealth Health. I called and was on hold for 10 minutes. The Commonwealth Health rep told me that the claim was submitted to my regular insurance and no information for the other card was on file. I explained everything to the rep, who was not interested and did not at all care. I put her on a conference call with the rep from Performance Health. After some time, the conclusion that I was given is that because the hospital submitted the claim to my regular insurance and not to Performance Health, Performance Health would not cover the copay balance of my visit.

Due to absolute malfeasance by the poorly educated and trained staff at Regional Hospital, the incompetence of Commonwealth Health, and the idiocracy of what Performance Health said to me, I am stuck with an emergency room copay that I should not be responsible for. I will NEVER use a Commonwealth Health hospital ever again and my Performance Card has also been cut up and thrown away. I will also notify my employer of this mess and to urge them to void this deal and urge my fellow employees to avoid and Commonwealth Health services in the future.

My true and honest opinion of regional hospital I was brought in with a irregular heartbeat (afib) I must say I gave it a 5 star because my experience with this place was excellent. The staff were great very helpful and took care of my every need...almost everyone had a great sense of humor .specially Alberta. The hospital dr khan..was also friendly n informative....thank you guys for treating me as family ...and getting my afib under control...I would say be back again .but I promise to follow orders so I dont have to come back lol ..but if I had to this would be the place...your patient Charlie
