Wish I could give a negative number. I just got home with my daughter who had contractions all night long every 3 minutes but wasn’t dilating past the 2 1/2she was when we got there. They kept her all night in the triage area. She slept a total of maybe an hour. First nurse was great! She was very compassionate. Second nurse and Dr on call had no bedside skills. They sent my daughter home telling her that her contractions weren’t real just pain since it was in her back and because she wasn’t dilating more. I was dilated to a 1 and that was being induced for 30 hours and had almost all back labor! How can you tell us back labor isn’t real labor and even though you have proof of 10 hours of contractions every 30 minutes reaching numbers as high as 110 that they aren’t real since she isn’t dilating? Then the Dr told my daughter she could just go to a different hospital. Wow!

Did I wait in the ER 3 hours? Yes.
Would I consider going anywhere else? No.

I received the best care at this facility and refuse to go anywhere outside of Saint Luke's. I know there are a lot of things that go on behind the scenes per say. Everyone thinks their emergency is top priority, but they don't see everything going on. I absolutely love the Saint Luke's Health System and East is always my preference.

Husband's doctor at the VA advised him to immediately go to the nearest emergency room if bleeding occurs after his tonsillectomy to get the wound cauterized again. Five days post-surgery some bleeding started and he went to the emergency room at St. Luke's East at 11pm and sat there for a few hours never being seen so he eventually came back home and called the VA early in the morning. He thought maybe St. Luke's would have better and faster service than Truman Medical Center located down the street a bit further.

Worst experience in my life. Horrible hospital. They dont even deserve 1 star. Turned away pregnant woman who was in labor and stated they will not service me because of my insurance. They obviously discriminate and have no interest in the well being of an unborn child. Not thorough, unprofessional, pass the buck, no accountability, no humanity, disrespectful, rushed patients, charges for doing nothing, snobbish, condescending, unethical, immoral, ignorant, all around shameful disgrace!
They should be investigated to the fullest extent and held accountable for not taking pride in upholding their standards. This place is a joke and I would NEVER recommend this hospital to my worst enemy. Despicable staff, awful service, no communication, no patient skills. Just a total waste of medical degrees and certifications. Oh and you will never speak to a real doctor they will send their nurses to do their dirty work! Do not and I repeat DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME LIKE THEY DO YOURS!

Firing a nurse because she dressed like beyonce in her time off is ridiculous. She has the freedom to express herself by law as stated in the constitution. Firing her for exercising her rights is against the law. Was she hurting anyone? NO. Was she making inappropriate comments or statements? NO. Way to make something about race that shouldn't have been an issue.
