I went here here when I thought I had a possible heart attack as it felt like something I had never had before. I felt the nurses were too laid-back when I arrived at the ER, not acting like it a possible serious or deadly situation. I could not figure why 4 or 5 nurses had to be in the room with me when 2 or 3 were just hanging out together and chilling. Two assisted me and the others chatted like they had nothing to do. Not saying they were not good nurses but I honestly was surprised as I have never seen that at other ER rooms. The doctor showed up and seemed like she was nice (hardly talked to her) never saw her again she went to assist someone in an a more serious situation than mine -- That was fine with me of course it was a priority at that point. I was not told and I waited...and waited..and waited...eventually asked a nurse what is going on, what am I still waiting on, results? tests? or??? That nurse tried her best to be helpful and she was! - told me what was going on, told me my labs were fine and said she can get permission for me to leave if I want and she did. She was caring and she made sure I was warm, etc. Got my husband a chair to rest in as he had not slept all night.

I have always had wonderful care from the ER to the inpatient units. Even when the ER is busy and holding they will get me back in a timely manor with a smile on their face! The ER doctors take pride in their care and listen to your problems so they can help treat you to the best they can. I feel comfortable at SLE and the care everyone provides. I will always go here and take my family here! Such a great hospital for the community! Thanks for all you do!

I went to this location in 2010 with my daughter at the age of 18. she had high fever and the doctor did not run any test and sent me home and said it was flu. I told him her lower back was really hurting and he still did nothing. 2 hours later went to St. Lukes in K.C. plaza and my daughter was admitted with full renal failure and spent the next 10 days in ICU fighting for her life. She had toxic shock. Her lower back was hurting because her kidneys were shutting down. I will never go to lee's summit location ER unless it is just a broken bone. St. Lukes Plaza was wonderful. They did labs and immediately rushed her into ICU. This was the scariest time in my life when I almost lost my daughter.

Wish I could give a negative number. I just got home with my daughter who had contractions all night long every 3 minutes but wasn’t dilating past the 2 1/2she was when we got there. They kept her all night in the triage area. She slept a total of maybe an hour. First nurse was great! She was very compassionate. Second nurse and Dr on call had no bedside skills. They sent my daughter home telling her that her contractions weren’t real just pain since it was in her back and because she wasn’t dilating more. I was dilated to a 1 and that was being induced for 30 hours and had almost all back labor! How can you tell us back labor isn’t real labor and even though you have proof of 10 hours of contractions every 30 minutes reaching numbers as high as 110 that they aren’t real since she isn’t dilating? Then the Dr told my daughter she could just go to a different hospital. Wow!

This is the best hospital I have been to. The care is always amazing. I will not go anywhere else if I can help it. The ER has to be the best part of the hospital. They are always very thorough and caring.
