Be aware. Emergency room physicians are outsourced and do not accept in network insurance payments so they can charge anything they want and you are stuck with the bill. Until this is resolved, better to look somewhere else if at all possible and circumstances allow. Name of outsource provider is Century Integrated.
Soon to relocate to Brenham from Galveston, some of the posts I've read here are frightening and hard to imagine, then again some of the comments are truly complimentary, I'm looking forward to getting acquainted and learning more about this facility, and staff.
My previous post asked: Why do you have such a horrible ER staff? I was seen today in the ER just after 12:30p 6/8/18. The triage nurse was very rude and did not ask me my medications or pull the foot rests down while pushing me in my wheelchair that she offered. I do not take tramadol on a regular basis and I sat in the ER room for a long time in pain with tears because no one cared except the the CTscan ladies. She was the only one who assisted me and tried to comfort me. She also reminded the nurses that I needed help for the pain. A visitor asked me was I receiving any help because the medical staff was so non caring and rude. Horrible bedside manors. HOWEVER, After returning to the hospital in a horrible state, I must say that the ER staff improved and behaved more compassionate and treated me like I mattered. I must say the nurse Loretta, Deby and one other nurse who really made me feel special after being in the hospital for 2 days waiting for transfer she provided some shower gel for my shower and it made me feel so much better. I don't know her name but she knows who she is on the morning I was transferred to College Station. Her name may have been Kirsten or Christen or Chrystal. On the morning of 7/18/18. Please reward these ladies. I observed them for 3 days. They deserve it. Their care will never be forgotten. Thanks
Have lost complete faith in this ER after the doctor answered my question about which kind of stroke my mother had by saying "there is only one kind" when I know that there is blockage and bleeders and giving aspirin to a bleeder can make it worse. Also when the nurse said that stenosis means "harding" I was aghast, even I knew it meant narrowing.
No complaints from the whole stay from admitting to procedure. Staff and nurses were great. Been very pleased with the scott and white clinic md's and staff.
