feedback about Shenandoah Memorial Hospital
Agree with the "Bandaid Hospital" comment. After several different appointments, being blown off each time, I finally went to Winchester Medical and got some minimal answers. And now, currently waiting for results back on a Holter Monitor I gave back Friday... It's Thursday (almost a week later) and when I called, no one knows where it's at, nor if it's been looked at?! Really glad I don't have a dangerous heart problem, or do I?!
This is only one case. I could go on.
Healthcare really is a joke in the U.S. It really is.
Great ER staff and medical clinic staff. Very nice, through, attentive and compassionate.
I have been to a couple hospitals throughout my lifetime, for myself or someone else. I have never experienced such disrespect and immature behavior that was not only witnessed by myself, but several others as well. I experienced racist and belligerent behavior and disrespect. My boyfriend did not receive proper care and had to return to Winchester’s hospital the following day. I had heard horrible things about the customer server before, but for times sake in our emergency we had to go to Shenandoah memorial. I will never return to that hospital and I hope for anyone else’s sake, they make it somewhere else.
My mother came to the emergency room because she had severe pain down her legs into her feet. She was diagnosed with neuropathy a few years ago and is on pain medication for that, but her toes were turning different colors and she could barely walk. We were in the room for 5 minutes before the doctor came in to "examine" her.
The first words that came out of his mouth when he walked in the room was "I will not prescribe you pain medication for chronic pain". He refused to do any testing because she was diagnosed with neuropathy..
I then took her to Warren Memorial Hospital where she was diagnosed with an aorta blockage, WHICH COULD HAVE KILLED HER. Luckily she has family that has a good head on their shoulders. She is due for surgery in April.
DO NOT go to this hospital if you want to get better! They want you in and out because they'd rather sit around and eat and chat it up.
Received prompt and excellent care and treatment and diagnosis injuries. All the staff was very friendly and gentle with me due to the nature of my injury
