I had an excellent experience at Sherman Oaks. I had my gallbladder removed and all of the staff, radiologists, surgical team and post-op nurse team were awesome. They kept me informed every step of the way, they checked on me regularly but also did their best to let me rest and recover. A special shout out to Rey, Marina and Mae. They were 3 of the best nurses I have ever come across. It’s sad that there are so many negative reviews on this hospital. I got the care I needed and the desired outcome I was hoping for. Maybe they were expecting a hospital to spoil you like a guest in a ritzy resort hotel. The staff at Sherman Oaks focus on protecting your health and your life. They showed great expertise in doing this. I wish my review could somehow override some of these negative reviews. I was there for 4 days so I saw numerous shifts come and go and all were awesome.

Honestly I avoided coming here because of bad reviews. My stomach had terrible pain and I waited 8 hours for the urgent care across the street to open because their reviews were so much better. Don't get me wrong, urgent care earned it's great reviews, however when my needs were greater than what urgent care could provide, they sent me to the ER at Sherman Oaks hospital. The people here are sweet. They laugh and make you feel welcome. I've had multiple hour long conversations with staff just shooting the breeze. Just a great experience. I ended up staying here for roughly 3 days due to an appendectomy. It was some of the worst pain I can remember and yet the hospital made the experience almost enjoyable. I'm about to check out and almost don't want to leave. They feel like a family. I look forward to my next life threatening situation so I can come back... ok that's a joke. But you get what I'm saying, they do a good job oh yeah, and they saved my life. But that's just what hospitals do. Thanks everybody!

If I could give zero stars I would. Horrible hospital never coming back, no matter the case. Came here bc it’s close to my home. They do not take time to listen to the patients need, they do not care about patients as a human, take their time, & are very rude. They left me alone in a room for hours, no update, one girl woke me out of my sleep just to charge me $150.00 & then turned around and told another patient they don’t have to pay $150.00 right away. I had to get dressed and go find someone to help me in the hospital after repeatedly pressing the button. Staff is unfriendly and horrible up front. Will never visit this ER again. My doctor hardly spoke to me, and stayed long gone. I also feel discriminated against, & by far the worst hospital I have ever been to

Hospital continues to be appalling you have to be vigilant God forbid you have to be brought here it's a shame in the community you have to choose a hospital that is the lesser of two evils hospital and ER is so poorly staffed and run it is actually scary to think your life could be in their hands expect to be constantly disrespected as a patient and have your rights violated like other corporate entities it's all about the money and not about the quality of care I've been to the ER on multiple occasions for myself and seen and experienced horrific things now I have to Stan guard have the person I take care of who is at the hospital not necessarily by choice but by the demands of the paramedics the ICU unit as Baron with few actual patients and not enough people to really take care of them for instance four patients 3 nurses two nurses are in one room cleaning and turning a patient PICC line specialist is in another room each room needs another set of hands is somebody codes or two patients code guess what happens I observed both rooms above asking for help immediately and having to wait all while one nurse who was Manning the desk in the phone on her personal phone going through her social media additionally while she was on the business line very short and irritated with whoever she was talking to this was blatant inappropriate unprofessional behavior this is an ICU unit I had to staunchly Advocate Just for information on the patient I'm responsible for no one listens until you stand up and you demand it and then they're actually indignant about it I had to bring in our family attorney just to get information straight and be treated with the slightest bit of dignity if you have to go to this Hospital be prepared to advocate and demand respect additionally know your patient rights they will try and bully you into doing what they want information is important and patient rights dictate you should be well-informed not just a few reliability to the hospital but to the well-being of your loved one especially if you're dealing with seniors I don't know why the medical community seems to think if you're of a certain age you've had a good life and it's not necessarily worth all the effort to save never allow them to make excuses for everything always demand quality care and their attention that is what they are there for also protect your HIPAA rights as this hospital as I witnessed time and time again in the ER violates them

I recently was admitted for chest pain, my EKG’S where normal so they give me the choice to get an stress test, in the morning and get admitted or check with my primary doctor, I decided to stay and received treatment, All the employees from ER to 3 West where extremely respectful and caring, the food was good and the doctors where very nice, they keep the rooms clean and the temperature comfortable, Overall I love my experience in Sherman Oaks is an Excellent hospital and All the Nurses work really hard to keep their patients comfortable and the process for discharge was really fast and I am very Satisfied with the Excellent Service I will definitely will choose this Hospital again.
