This is for the birthing center more than the hospital itself. We had our first child just under 2 months ago and the staff was less than desirable. The first nurse we had, that helped deliver the baby, was grumpy and kept getting mad that my wife could not push as long as she wanted her too. And don’t get me started on the main doctor who helped from the woman’s health facility, joe Wilson. He was incredibly rude to the other staff members and yelled at my wife to stop pushing at one point instead of being calm and making it a relaxing experience for us. The doctor who was training was fantastic, I don’t remember his name. We had nurses filling in that don’t know anything. We were told by one nurse after asking her a question that she didn’t know the answer because she doesn't usually work in this department, instead of getting us a nurse who could answer. One nurse who came in around midnight told my wife to call her if she needed any help and then looked over at me, when I just lasted down after helping all night, to try and get a couple hours of sleep and said that she should make me get up instead of her coming in to help. One nurse was younger than we were and was helping us feed as we had some latching issues at first and she had a bottle of formula with a tube running into our sons mouth and just let it free flow into his mouth which, right after he was done, came all back out. I told the head nurse and she went and addressed it with here as she was not happy she did that. We had an angel of a nurse who I unfortunately can’t remember the name of, but she is one of the lactation specialists they have there who worked with us all day, and all night teaching us things we needed to know and made sure she was at every feeding to make sure things were going smooth. She gets more than a 5 star review, the rest of the experience, not so much. If we have another one, we will most likely give the anacortes hospital a try. Overall, this moment that was suppose to be special, was made to feel like more of a burden to most of them at the hospital.

Just had my first colonoscopy and my first ever medical procedure. Staff was amazing, empathetic, and professional! Did not even hurt to get my i.v.! Thank you!

Someone very special to me was in critical care for about 3 weeks before passing away on April 1st. She was very well taken care of. The staff was kind and respectful, even when she was difficult. Her last days were filled with hope and optimism toward her future. I am very thankful to everyone there for showing her such kindness

So after receiving horrible care at Skagit Regional Clinic across from Walmart, who provided no care to my daughter and turned us away we arrived at the ER, here at Skagit Valley Hospital where we received more horrible care. At Skagit Valley Hospital we had to demand an x ray be taken of my daughter, after two of there medical professionals examined her and told us she seemed fine, only to find a spiral fracture of her left femur after. After being very persistent in having x rays done on her leg and then finding an injury, after being turned away previously for seeking care, we were then like treated horrible child abusers, our rights were flat out violated, we were subjected to unnecessary procedures and through all the procedures we never even knew who our medical staff was because they don't fill out the boards in the ER. They also hang up call lights on you without answering them, and will threaten you with Child Protective Services if you act upon your rights, and flat out lie to you and call them anyway, because they are mandatory reporters, anyway but hey won't be honest with you. And after the poor care you receive get ready for the huge bill! All that money, thousands of dollars in claims for horrible care, I won't ever go back here for medical treatment. Just think what might have happened if we had just listened to the doctors and took our injured child home!
