I do not understand how this hospital is receiving 1 star reviews. I have had 2 surgeries here, one of which was emergent. When I went to the ER, yes I waited a short time in the waiting room, but was in surgery within 20 minutes of being seen. The people who are complaining about the emergency room should really take a step back and look around them and ask themselves why are they at an emergency room. People abuse the emergency room for stupid non-emergent complaints. This is what causes long wait times, not the staff. The doctors, nurses, techs and admin staff are extremely professional and caring. If my life or health was in danger there is no other place I would rather be.
This facility has really stepped up the past few years! I have chronic conditions and unfortunately end up in the hospital approx. every 2-3 months. South Lake Hospital has nearly become my home away from home.
Their doctors take time and listen. They listen to your questions or concerns and address each of them. The nursing staff is THE BEST! Every time I go I make new friends. Some who have even given their phone numbers so that I can keep in touch after I am discharged and also so they can check on me and answer any questions.
5 out of 5 stars here lately!
I recently admitted our 95 year old mom who has dementia for observation and testing. We went to hospital at 11 am and she had not been cleaned up at all. The had brought her breakfast but no one attempted to sit her up or move tray over her bed or open anything. If you know anything about dementia you know she would need help. We we're trying to prepare her to eat the breakfast tray when they came in with lunch. My husband and I spent the day and not once did they attempt to check her or change her unless we went in search of the nurse. I feel considering her age and her dementia they could of trief to help her way more then they did. So sad that because your 90 and cannot speak up your neglected. I was not happy with the care at this hospital
CDU nurses were very prompt and warm. ICU nurses on Thursday Dec 21, were awesome in caring for my mom. Nurses in ICU today, with exception of Randy, have been very cold and detached, leaving us ignored most of the day. Have been waiting for MRI on liver for FOUR DAYS. Not impressed with the speed and efficiency between units.
They are nice people, I'll start with that. However, they are extremely slow or super shorthanded. Came in with my 5 year old who had a serious allergic reaction. We waited long to go back. Waited long for doctor. Waited long for pharmacy to produce meds. Waited long for discharge papers. You shouldn't give such service to little ones who are already so scared to be in the hospital in the first place.
