I was in the ER at Spearfish Regional yesterday evening. While I understand that the ER can sometimes be a wait, I was lucky to be seen (and treated!) almost immediately. Both the doctor and nurse who cared for me were empathetic and professional. Thank you.
*Notably, I want to add that it meant a lot that the nurse who cared for me was spectacular at her job! I have significant trouble with my veins when it comes to drawing blood/IV's. Normally, I either dread asking the nurse/tech to use "a butterfly", or clench my teeth and hope the needle gets in after 2-3 pokes (and I doesn't leave . major bruising)! However, during my ER visit at Spearfish Regional, I barely felt the nurse putting in the IV and did not even realize she had already drawn my blood--and this was all while being dehydrated. Thank you, again.
[Full Disclosure: As can be gathered from the comment on my review, I edited this after an initial visit to ER that left me feeling dissatisfied, and still unwell. Importantly, I was tremendously impressed when a Patient Advocate called me to ask about my experience, and provided information about the circumstances in the ER at the time of my visit. As an out-of-state visitor, I really thought this showed integrity and care.]
