Had to make a visit to the ER, the care I received was immediate for my needs. All the staff were so genuine and skilled. I never doubted , I was receiving the best care and what ever test that was needed was to help discover my reason for the visit. Thank you all for your ability to keep a patient informed and calm.

I was in the ER at Spearfish Regional yesterday evening. While I understand that the ER can sometimes be a wait, I was lucky to be seen (and treated!) almost immediately. Both the doctor and nurse who cared for me were empathetic and professional. Thank you.

*Notably, I want to add that it meant a lot that the nurse who cared for me was spectacular at her job! I have significant trouble with my veins when it comes to drawing blood/IV's. Normally, I either dread asking the nurse/tech to use "a butterfly", or clench my teeth and hope the needle gets in after 2-3 pokes (and I doesn't leave . major bruising)! However, during my ER visit at Spearfish Regional, I barely felt the nurse putting in the IV and did not even realize she had already drawn my blood--and this was all while being dehydrated. Thank you, again.

[Full Disclosure: As can be gathered from the comment on my review, I edited this after an initial visit to ER that left me feeling dissatisfied, and still unwell. Importantly, I was tremendously impressed when a Patient Advocate called me to ask about my experience, and provided information about the circumstances in the ER at the time of my visit. As an out-of-state visitor, I really thought this showed integrity and care.]

Went in last night to the ER for a suspected heart issue. Dr. Gilbert was wonderful, had a great bed side manner and took his time. He also explained everything completely. He was funny and has a great laugh as well. The staff Brook, Michael, Brian (I think) that was their names) we're also outstanding and I believe I'm missing one but anyway. A great big THANK YOU for the care I received 😁

We were on vacation in the Black Hills when my daughter fell on a deck and picked up a staph infection that turned into cellulitis and eventually sepsis after the first round of antibiotics didn't work. We were there twice and the second time she was admitted. I have nothing but good things to say about all of the nurses and doctors who cared for her. It was a pretty traumatic experience for all of us especially since it happened so far away from home, but you all acted fast and got my little girl the care she needed. My only regret was going to the Rapid City ER the second time around because we were much closer and we wasted so much time in their waiting room as she got sicker. I am so glad we decided to make the drive back to Spearfish!

Terrible customer service..... the receptionists or whatever she was was rude and disrespectful. How disappointing, we have used this ER for years but we will not be using it again unless we can't absolutely not make it anywhere else.
