My husband was in the hospital last August for a few days during a Crohn's flare. We went to St. Mary's hospital here in Jeff. First bad taste in my mouth was a "patient representative" coming to my husbands hospital room (while he was still in patient with no release in sight - it was our first day there) to bring us our first bill. They stated that if we "paid before he was discharged we could get a measly 10% discount. That total was 250ish - which we chose to pay even in the distasteful way it was given to us, in my opinion. Second, in September we got a bill from the hospital for 18,000+ stating our insurance denied the claim. Insurance said the hospital didn't get a prior authorization for his hospital stay. The billing department was less than helpful, but after many hoops we found the prior auth and insurance paid on the claim. Fast forward to October we got our portion of the hospital bill(1,600+). Which I promptly filled out the assistance packet to see if we qualified and turned it in. For the last 4 months we have talked to them every 2-3 weeks about the status of the file, sent them additional information, jumped through hoop after hoop after hoop. (Seriously, a freaking ton of work.) Just to find out yesterday that we qualified to only have to pay 50% of the bill. You'd think yay right? But we were told that since we qualified for 50% (not 60,80, or 100) and our bill was less then 2,000 (which they have known this whole time) and that we still owed the 1,600+. Throughout this process I have talked to more rude people at the St. Mary's billing department and have wasted 4 months on this. If you want any advice mine would be to avoid them at all cost. Maybe them getting bought out will do something for their customer service.

Went to the ER with Broncho spasm , was admitted with nitro drip x rays, blood tests, C scan, EGG, EKG, and I have no Ideal what else. Was released and told nothing was wrong and it is two months I was back at the ER 3 more times and nothing was done and one ER doctor stated he could not give any medication as he was not authorized . I am still being treated with Bronchopneumonia after I went to my general practitioner as he found it in 15 minutes

I feel like they didn't do anything for me I went in walking in pain hemerging blood and left in a wheelchair dying in pain I had a allergic reaction to the pain meds they gave me my face has been swallowing up for 2 days, I have been running a horrible fever they wouldn't check me or examine me they gave me a quarter bag of fluids and toradol and I am highly allergic to aspirin .I ain't impressed with the service I received 2 days ago at all the hospital did nothing for me.

Labor and Delivery Nurses have no respect for the privacy of their patients. Please don't assume that your patient wants everyone in her room to see whats under the blanket.

went to st Mary's clinic in holt summit. decent service, simple physical, even had a list of what had to be done for my insurance to pay. this is second time this place has screwed up. ain,t going to happen again. there billing dept. needs to hire people that know how to do there job. never been to the new hospital but haven't heard any good!
