My experience with this clinic has been very positive. I have enough health issues to necessitate easy access to health care and there aren’t enough doctors in Prineville, so I drive to Madras to see my primary care physician. The wait time to get an appointment is much faster than in Prineville, Redmond, and Bend, and my doctor is extremely bright, intuitive, compassionate, accessible through email, and totally up to date on current research as she makes informed decisions to help me. The staff has always been friendly to me when I come in. At this point, I wouldn’t change doctors even if Prineville were to be properly staffed. Dr. M is a keeper.

Horrible experience. No human compassion. They make HUGE mistakes, and patient suffers the consequences. EVERYONE treated like a drug-seeker despite no reason to suspect abuse. No follow-up, even call-backs to other doctors and treatment providers. No on-call physician. FAIL.
Went in unable to walk with crippling back pain. The staff was very kind and supportive and the doctor helped get my condition under control. He was very helpful and gave me information on how to get follow up care rolling immediately. I didn’t go there with unrealistic expectations hoping to feel 100%... I understand my recovery will take effort and follow through on my part. These guys helped me get through a really bad day in dealing with my ongoing health issue. I’d like to thank the staff personally for their help today.
I am watching a friend's health deteriorate due to the facade of "care" provided at St. Charles Madras. They have 4 individuals involved in her care, and she is being provided with potentially life-threatening and contradicting guidance from all of them. We have written documentation from PharmD and MD provided on the same date that both recommend & forbid an over-the-counter medication for pain. Due to multiple chronic illnesses this "Not-so-fab Four" continue to throw meds at symptoms with little to no effective communication between one another or the patient, resulting in even more symptoms to contend with, and absolutely no sign of empathy, care, or acknowledgement of the patient's questions or concerns. Most recently she is suffering from acute pain due to a serious injury. Despite the increase in pain, they are keeping her on the same, minimal pain (lowest dose of opiate tablet available) regimen she has been on for months. The Tylenol suggested for pain is making her sick, and she cannot take NSAID's. She was due to refill her normal pain meds on this date, and they were taken to the pharmacy. For some reason, these were dated for three days later. This will result in the entire weekend with no pain mgmt. Numerous calls have been made to the doctor by us, as well as the pharmacist, who believes it is clear the doctor made a mistake, but can do nothing to remedy the situation without speaking first to a doctor. Calls & messages left during normal work hours, even urgent ones have gone unanswered, along with later calls to on-call doctor, suggested by the pharmacy manager, as he even expresses concern over a clear mistake by the prescribing doctor & unnecessary distress for the patient. St. Charles seems to be on holiday. Clearly the oath of "First, do no harm..." has been lost on these doctors, along with simple human compassion, as well as any semblance of professionalism. As I watch my friend go from an active enthusiastic survivor to bed- ridden, suffering invalid, I caution anyone seeking medical care here. Make the drive elsewhere. It just may save your life. Note: During this time of opioid hysteria, it is important to note that this patient underutilizes meds. Clearly, all those seeking pain relief are pre-judged as drug-seeking addicts prior to any diagnostic insight into individual cases. Hope this helps.
