feedback about St Cloud Regional Medical Center
Took my son to the emergency room because he developed Angioedema due to an allergic reaction. Nurses were knowledgeable, experienced, and they made me feel comfortable that my son was in great care. Saint Cloud Regional has come along way and I love the direction is taking!
If you want to get sepsis and die, I recommend coming here. If not, PLEASE go to another hospital. The doctors here will compare your pain or your condition with their own. They won’t believe what you say and their education is very limited. I had to sign an AMA and go to another hospital where I got excellent care and thank God I did!
I had an colonoscopy done yesterday at this hospital. I am extremely happy about my experience. Every staff I encountered from the beginning at the registration to the end I was escorted out to my car after the procedure was very friendly and professional. Everything went smoothly and in a timely manner. The hospital was clean and comfortable. I'd rate my experience with this hospital "5 Star".
Outpatient is bait and switch on fees!. Was told their system allows them to put in procedure code with my insurance and the system shows them “almost exactly what my portion would be” (Her words) and my portion was $58.00. Based on that information and her extreme confidence in the amount,
I made the decision to get services there. 3 weeks later I got a bill for $467.00!!! Called their billing dept based out of St. Pete, because the actual facility in St. Cloud said they couldn’t talk to me about my bill or about how the lady clearly lied to me. End result of 5 months later waiting for them to “call me back” was they sent another bill for the same amount and said Sorry, pay in full now. This woman should be held accountable for her words and service , yet I pay the price, literally.
If the ninth circle of hell has a hospital, this is it. Don’t ever come here for emergency services. Hell, don’t come here even for outpatient. I waited for what I thought were issues with my appendix for 3 hours in the waiting room which is potentially life threatening, only to find out it’s “ulcers” which are still potentially life threatening. Before I was admitted, a guy who had a tooth ache said he would flip a chair if he wasn’t seen and that seemed to get him seen and he got in no trouble for it. When I said it (I guess cuz I didn’t look like I belonged on duck dynasty) I was searched. Not only that but he came in after me and got seen before me! How does weapons that I don’t even have pertain to me saying I was gonna flip a chair too? Just an excuse to violate my right to privacy. They found nothing on me of course. I then demanded to find out who made a false report on me having weapons and treated me unequally compared to that guy, the whole security team basically postured me and refused to answer. I only said what I did because I felt I wasn’t being seen with the proper urgency considering how it could kill me; I was never going to do it. Once admitted, I was put across the hall from a mentally ill man who was screaming that he was mentally ill and screaming that he was drunk as if it was done purposely out of spite. Plus, I had a security guard waiting outside the room who left once I explained how I had been treated unequally. When my care began they were resistant in me finding out what things were to cost assuming I couldn’t pay. This kind of assumption is dangerous I just wanted to know costs going forward. Now I’m glad I did hearing in other reviews here how they jack up prices. I didn’t wind up seeing the doctor the whole night until the end, when he misdiagnosed me with gastric ulcers based on normal looking imaging. I had asked him for an antibiotic; he then responded by telling me he didn’t have time for me due to other patients which is extremely unprofessional. He also told me he wasn’t sure and it could be my appendix like I suspect; so you’re prescribing me medicine for something you aren’t sure of?!?!? That’s terrifying. I basically had the imaging done for nothing as well. Fast forward to trying to pay for all this which at first I didn’t want to pay them because when I was done with the round of medicine the doctor prescribed me, I wasn’t better; and he recommended me a Muslim doctor for follow up when I’m extremely uncomfortable with that due to their religious doctrine, I didn’t speak up because In this day and age you are treated like a leper for standing up for yourself. I was left to fend for myself due to a growing distrust in doctors which held up my decision to pay them, falsely Pacified with discount methods that wouldn’t work, the guy who didn’t know how to provide a discount method gets to go home early daily just because he’s a manager, sounds like affirmative action that’s out of control to me, the doctor they chose for me won’t call me back about his unprofessional conduct, I’m having stuff forwarded to collection agencies when they are the hardest people to deal with that I’ve ever come across, it’s hard not to feel like they try to take your money and run. They cherry picked my complaints against the hospital as if they weren’t regarding my care just so they could charge me for what they couldn’t fix. I drove an hour each way to this hospital because I thought it would provide better medical care due to the much lower crime rate in the area surrounding it and this is how I’m treated. The last straw was when I was just hung up on for telling the truth that sending this to collections considering my hardships so far was unfair. When I try to get the number to collections a lady who pretends to be on my side gives me a number that refers me to purchasing medical devices and Caribbean cruise line vacations...in the end I wound up misdiagnosed; an urgent care figured out what was causing my lower abdominal pain...turns out it’s irritable bowel syndrome; I’m not paying you.
