feedback about St Joseph Mercy Chelsea
Just underwent a total knee replacement at Chelsea hospital. As a PT myself I know what good care looks like. The entire staff was superb. They answered my call light quickly and always with a smile on their faces. They continually asked if I needed anything. Some names I remember (sorry I was on tons of pain killers) from my medical assistants and nurses were Shelby, Lynn, Jane, and PT Susan, I think. I know I’m missing my Thursday night 2/7/19 staff. You were all so good to me. Thank you all for your loving care.
Amazing care and a beautiful facility. My family has gotten care in the Chelsea ED, and multiple departments, and the service is always high quality. The staff exceeds expectations, and genuinely cares, every time.
They released my 79 year old father way too soon! He had major back surgery and they sent him home after 48 hours when he was running a temperature, hadn't had a bm, needs two people to get him out of bed and to stand up. During the night he pressed the call button and hollered out for help to go to the bathroom, no one responded and he was left in his own urine for over an hour. After this experience, I wouldn't let my dog stay there for one hour!
I’m sorry, you’re staff ( RN and MD ) where not professional at all ! They used derogatory terms when addressing my mother i.e. honey and dear. They spoke loudly at her although she doesn’t have a hearing deficit. She was an in obvious pain but was never even offered Tylenol. Her blood pressure was elevated on admission was only re-checked when we asked and still remained elevated and she’s presently on medication for an arrhythmia. This was never addressed. She needed to use the bathroom and use to call-light appropriately and we have to find staff as it was not answered for 10 minutes. The nurse informed us that the Xray had been resulted and she was just waiting for the doctor to review them , shortly after the MD passed the room and told us that they actually was not back and she would come talk to us as soon as it was available. This showed no communication between the staff. She had a laceration to her eyebrow which kept bleeding they did attempt to dress it but was never properly dressed and kept oozing. Her ring finger was swollen and staff wanted to just cut off her wedding ring making no attempt to remove it other than just pulling on it. When we tried to explain they could remove it without cutting it they were disbelieving and we had to actually remove the ring for them. We were deeply disappointed with the standard of care and the level of professionalism and they seem to just treat my mother as an “old lady” not a person. Discussing this with other people we have realized that this is not an individual situation and this is happening to others hence we are bringing this to your attention.
Shout out to KATE the RN for excellent service. You can have the last laugh “Just Kate”, I hope it made your night heckling a patient; An Army veteran who was in too much pain to travel the rest of the way to the VA hospital.
