If you come in for complications or anything related to a chronic condition/pain they will tell you they don't deal with that, no matter how bad your pain is. They're good with acute problems, though. I've had a few ruptured ovarian cysts and each time the nurses were sweet and I was dealt with quickly. But it really depends on what doctor you get. There are some who treat anyone in pain as though they're suspicious and probably there to get high. In my opinion it's more ethical to treat everyone as though their pain is real instead of punishing the 9 people in real pain because of the 1 person who was looking for a fix. It's inhumane to give people no relief, then send them home to be in more pain. I've thought about making a report about one doctor in particular. It's awful being treated like you're mental or a junkie. I get that the doctors can become cynical, but it's better to treat everyone well. Err on the side of kindness and treatment.

We have always used Athens Regional until now when our insurance requires us to go to St Mary’s Hospital. I do not have any complaints about Athens Regional. However, I could not be more pleased with the entire experience at St Mary’s. I’m dealing with a lump in my breast & everyone from scheduling, reception, radiology, nursing, to the doctors have been incredibly kind, knowledgeable, & thorough! I would chose St Mary’s Hospital now even if I had a choice.

Every time I call to obtain mammo reports from Angie she is not pleasant and friendly at all. I don’t even get done speaking and she cuts me off and speaks to me as if I’m annoying her. I’m not one to write reviews often, so for me to take my time to write this is because someone needs to speak to her about her phone etiquette. I shouldn’t have to feel like I’m pulling teeth to simply get results when our office is the ordering physician. If there’s any issues with the order she can still speak nicely and explain without being so harsh. I dread calling the hospital because of this.

What a great atmosphere! Although they didn't have anywhere to park our big bus, we got lucky and a sweet girl named Tiffany gave us a ride back to the bus on the golf cart!! She was AMAZING! Great attitude and a sweet smiling face. Thanks Tiffany!!

My first time going here, to their ER. The issues I had were very private and that is exactly how they kept it, very private, very confidential. I am very impressed with the treatment I received, very one-on-one with the P.A., and nurses. I felt very comfortable and reassured. I would recommend though to NOT complain, or get snappy. It just makes them seem not happy, and unhelpful. Understandably I would personally have been passive with rude patients too.. I noticed that my time went smooth and fast, when I was not pestering them or complaining about the service. It is a great hospital though and I recommend them highly!
