I imagine that those who rated poorly either can't be satisfied or hasn't been hospitalized and treated at OSF in Rockford Illinois. With that being said, I had worked at OSF, I had seen the constant lack of patient care from A-Z. The whole staff here at St. Mary's goes above and beyond their duties. I sat back and I observed everything. What I had seen was 1) beeping in my mom"s room was stopped immediately by all RN's who heard it, 2) acted quickly was there was a grave BP issue, one came in and then their was five to help 3) Dr Steve H. was extremely friendly and down to earth. He took the time to converse with the nurse on the inside and outside of the epideral. Never once being condesending. The hole scenerio played out in from of me was refreshing to watch 4) staff had come in the clean the room, was very friendly, asked if it was ok to clean 5) Dietary called the room when they had seen that she had not placed a dinner order yet. They were right on top of it 6) the floor was quiet. There were any staff just sitting around. They were always on the go. 7) constantly doing room checks to make sure the patients needs were met. 8) staff was always very friendly while in the room. They never once seemed to be in a hurry to leave room. I'm sure that I haven't been there to see it all but what I did see was an eye opener. I knew I could leave and mom would be taken care of and THESE things aren't done at OSF. I can say that at St. Mary's the staff is here to care for the patient because it was their calling and not to collect a paycheck at the end of the week. This is a very beautiful hospital with a big heart. My mom is still in hospital (rm 3117), I have to go back to Missouri but I have no worries for I know she is in good hands. Thank you for saving her life. I'm eternally grateful to you!
