I love this location. Antonio, the man who did my daughter’s X-ray was the BEST. He greeted my daughter with a wheel chair, provided a blanket and helped her though every step. He was communicative and friendly. He has amazing bedside manner, and he went above and beyond to keep a smile on my daughter’s face.
My daughter keeps boasting about him! I never even write reviews- but I couldn’t help myself!
Every staff member that treated me while admitted for surgery was kind, polite, empathetic and caring. I love the network of specialists. Food was good and the room accommodation was pleasant as well as comfortable. I would highly recommend this facility/hospital. Thank you for taking such great care of me! Amazing experience. I am greatful and appreciative!
I underwent lower spinal surgery last month and was in the Southside hospital for 5 days. I chose St.Vincent's Southside because the neurosurgeon operates there. I am home recovering and trust that all went well with my surgery. But aside from the surgery, imaging and supervisory nurses, my overall opinion of this hospital is very poor. The majority of nurses do not have the proper training nor experience with patients who are in great pain. They would watch as I struggled to roll from one side to another for relief not knowing how to use the bed mat to help me. Most would just watch. While I had a single room for 2 days, I was moved to a much smaller room for 4 days due to shortage of staff. The second room was adequate but with a bathroom that was circa 1950s with toilet paper that was not reachable by someone recovering from back surgery. I watched the cleaning crew and most suffer from apathy or lack of understanding of cleanliness. The food in this hospital is atrocious and nearly inedible and I was forced to have food brought to me by my wife. I have been treated by 3 different hospitals in the Jacksonville area and, by far, this hospital has the worst food that I have ever encountered. I pleaded and was finally released to Brooks Crossroad Rehab center. It was as if I went from hell to heaven. While I would like to use this hospital again, sadly, I will never do so based upon my experience last month. When one speaks with some of the more experienced nurses, one understands the depth of some of the issues at this hospital such as low pay, shortage of nurses, 12-hour shifts, lack of concern and attentiveness. The list is long. Based upon my experience, please search for another facility for an operation.
I prayed so hard for GOD to help me get my GMA the care she deserved! Something told me to take her to St.Vinvent's Southside, even though they wanted to take her to Memorial. Luckily, I convinced them to bring her here!
So, thankful I did the Angels I have been praying for were here waiting for her! They have taken exceptional care of her! But, Jayla, Brianne, Simone and Roxanne gave her such great care and were so sweet to her, I had to leave for a min. and I came back to surprise them with breakfast! 🤗💌🙌👼❤
I hope that helped them see how grateful I am for them and the wonderful hospitality they have given her! They are our Angels on Earth!
If you ever need to go to the Hospital make sure you come here! I am sure you will be just as happy as I am, that you did! 🙌
On Nov. 27. I was at St. Vincent's Southside ER. Then go up to my room. Due to my breath situation. They threat me very well and get my breath back. I'm C.O.P.D. and I thanks to St. Vincent's Hospital. Also I had great nurses. Including shifts nurses.
