feedback about Stephens Memorial Hospital
I have been to this hospital twenty times or more throughout my life and had 2 children born there. Not one time ever was I upset or disappointed with the level of care I was given.Just went in nov.2018 and again received excellent care.in and out in less than 45 minutes. Its a smaller hospital than the big cities but they are absolutely the best at what they can do there.Do not hesitate when considering going to this hospital for free.
I was seeing the OB/GYN and one of the staff violated hipaa law by calling someone I did NOT authorize to leave a message and info for me. I was upset and reached out to them, but the receptionist denied it ever happened, the office manager became argumentative and kept contradicting herself and changing her story to cover their butts, and accusing me of saying things I didn't say, and when I brought this complaint to administration, they assured me it would be investigated and I will receive a letter. Well, just got my letter. It was from the OFFICE MANAGER, 1.5 pages of her side of the same argument that we had on the phone... The same conversation that left a bad taste in my mouth, prompting me to complain in the first place! How in any way is that supposed to bring a close to this? It's a farce. I called administration and Martha said there's nothing more they can do, and asked what I wanted them to do? I said I wasn't expecting waves to be made, but that didn't mean I wanted to be further harassed by the office manager. I can't believe the level of incompetence here. I tried to resolve it with them, but have only received grief and frustration at every step. I gave them a chance to apologize for making the call and treat me with respect, but they refused to do so. I suppose reaching out to a hipaa lawyer is my next step.
This little guy arrived early, the staff were incredible. The care for not only mom but for the entire family as a whole was amazing.
This was a complicated pregnancy and the staff handled it like the pros that they are. The compassion and service were second to none. Every one is so thankful that although this was plan B - Maine Med was the original plan - the care and service far surpassed
And sometimes the 2nd option turns out to be the best
Would give a 0 if it was possible. Birth center staff doesn't seem to care for anyones concerns. I'm 38 weeks pregnant, haven't felt my baby move in 24 hours. The hooked me up to the no stress test machine, say everything is fine and sent me on my way. I've had many problems with this entire hospital. But this has been the worst experience.
They need to work on educating their ER doctors on mental illness. I have a severe anxiety disorder that causes me to have all kinds of symptoms and they feel VERY REAL to me. I have a hard time interpreting what feels like an emergency vs "just anxiety". I was basically told to just control it. It doesn't matter how much I have come in in the past. You treat patients with dignity, respect, compassion and understanding. Dr. Galley and Dr. Piker are amazing but the others, one in particular has talked to me as if I was foolish and belittled me. I am VERY disgusted. I left the hospital in tears because of the way I was talked to.
