The emergency room staff were on the ball, not so much with the diagnostics but they knew what to do when situations arise. Good folks there. The emergency room had holes all over the walls where there had been either equipment or something else, the sliding door to my emergency room didn't work at all so they had to open it a different way. Presentation folks... Yes you are there to perform emergency services but having holes in the walls reminds me of a 3rd wold country building.
The Nurses on my floor were all awesome!!!!! I felt so at ease since hospitals freak me the f*** out. They made sure I was comfortable and were always there when I needed them. With kind words, I thought for a moment I was at home receiving the care I needed. No mater the situation I truly felt these guys have got it together.
It was on my chart that I'm allergic to fish and shellfish, the culinary staff made sure all my food was prepared with no cross contamination. Sometimes the food was as cold as ice but its to be expected with how crummy their equipment is for food delivery. Hospitals need to make sure that maintenance is performed on all equipment, not just the medical devices.
However,
The doctors bedside manors was about as good as a rabid jackass. This guy gave me about 20 minutes to make some big care decisions and kept on trying to leave. Being single with no family (except for my mother) its allot to mull over in your head of; do I stay and wait for an on-call cardiologist who might be there in the next 3 days or do I go to my cardiologist with the test results to see if I need more surgery or some other form of treatment.
This guy had all his buddies in business lined up to see me as a new patient by the time I left. You could tell he cared more about whatever money he could make rather than administrating care.
Summerlin Hospital needs to get doctors who care more about the patients than what they can bill for.
