I'm pretty frustrated with their billing. I was forced to have a "meet-and-greet" with my doctor before getting my basic physical- the only reason I even needed to see a doctor. While my insurance will cover a physical, it does not cover stupid stuff like meet-and-greets. So not only was I forced to pay for that service, but apparently I had to pay to every "diagnosis" recorded during this so called meet-and-greet - and by diagnosis, I mean that I told my doctor my health concerns and she recorded them, and then I paid for, essentially, opening my mouth.

What's worse is that they lured me into talking about these things with this clever little questionnaire that they gave me in the waiting room. Assuming it was necessary information, I filled it out. The doctor brought up my answers, and then "diagnosed" me. Nobody warned me that my health concerns would cost so much.

So moral of the story, if you go to Swedish, keep your mouth shut before you end up getting charged for talking to your doctor- at which point, I don't see the point of going to the doctor at all.

*Disclaimer- I have every intention to pay my doctor for tests run, therapies conducted, and procedures done, but I refuse to pay my doctor for talking to me. That's ridiculous, because her words are no cure.

That said, Swedish is a money scam. I enjoyed my visit there, but I feel that they care more about finding clever ways to take your money than about helping you.

There are better medical practices in Seattle. Save your wallet.

My wife was there a couple years ago, cant recall much but the wife says it was wonderful there. Friend is in there now however and he was getting 3 stints put in his heart. They did a great job and he is recovering very nicely. Seems the people there are top notch professionals and care about their patients. WTG...

I had the worst experience at Swedish. I took my son to the ER to get stitches. I explained how he got them and she asked why didn't I bring him In right when it happened! It's none of her business to ask me that! Then right off the bat Dr. Goetz Just assumed I was homeless and a single mother all because of what my son was wearing. (We had just finished swimming so he still had his Swimming shorts and shirt) I also was running out the door and forgot my wallet to pay for parking so I didn't have cash to pay I am so offended that she would make such stupid assumptions! He has 2 older sisters, A mom a dad, and he is one happy boy. She went out of her way to call CPS. Because she thought I wasn't talking good care of my son. She is old and overweight. But I didn't judge her. I am so so disappointed at how they treated me and my son. I'm sure I'm going to get a hefty bill too.
I would NEVER
recommend Swedish to any of my friends and family!
